Methamphetamine, other drugs and parahernalia were recovered from a woman’s vehicle Sunday night after an infant was reported to be left alone in the car.

McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters reports a Pulaski County woman was arrested Sunday evening after officers found a child left alone in a vehicle that also contained methamphetamine and other drugs.

Deputies Cecil Powers and Charles Perry responded to a call at the Dollar General Store in Pine Knot around 9:13 p.m. that evening concerning a baby left unattended in a vehicle.

Upon arrival the officers found the infant left alone, and contacted Social Services to take the child into protective custody.

Officers also made contact with the mother, identified as Tabitha A. Lopez Gonzalez, 31, of Somerset, and arrested her on a charge of Wanton Endangerment.

Gonzalez gave officers consent to search her vehicle, in which they found approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, a small quantity of marijuana, suboxone pills and various items of drug paraphernalia.

She was then charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with intent to deliver/manufacture and having a Prescription of a Controlled Substance not in the Proper Container.

She was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
