Drug Task Force charges lead Grand Jury Indictments

The Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force placed charges and received indictments for 17 individuals for drug trafficking offenses. The McCreary County Grand Jury met in regular session on November 22, 2021 and handed down a total of 26 indictments.

Richard Frost of Whitley City, KY was charged for the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense on or about August 5, 2019 for selling a quantity of Oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic to a confidential informant for the LCADTF.

Roscoe Garland of Parkers Lake, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about August 15, 2019 Garland committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Second Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF.  Count 2 states that on or about August 15, 2021 Garland committed the alleged offense of Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree having committed and been convicted of prior felonies.

Paula Cooper of Stearns, KY was charged on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about November 21, 2019 Cooper committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic, to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about January 17, 2020 Cooper committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling 10 dosage units of hydrocodone, a schedule II controlled substance, to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. 

Nathaniel Cordell of Stearns, KY was indicted on two counts.  Count 1 states that on or about November 23, 2019 Cordell committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about November 30, 2020 Cordell committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF.

Dustin Crabtree of Strunk, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about October 10, 2019 Crabtree committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about October 11, 2020 Crabtree committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF.

Sherry Jones of Parkers Lake, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about September 25, 2019 Jones committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of buprenorphine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about September 25, 2019 Jones committed the alleged offense of Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree having been convicted of prior felonies.

Marshall Hollers of Stearns, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling methamphetamine for $25 to a confidential informant for the LCADTF on or about August 24, 2020. 

Brandon Inman of Stearns, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling buprenorphine, a schedule III controlled substance, to a confidential informant for the LCADTF on or about September 26, 2019.

Loretta Bowman of Strunk, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of oxycodone to a confidential informant for the LCADTF on or about January 20, 2020.

Ashley Coffey of Stearns, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF on or about July 28, 2020.

Tosha Maxey of Pine Knot, KY was indicted on three counts. Count 1 states that on or about July 30, 2020 Maxey committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about August 13, 2020 Maxey committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 3 states that on or about July 30, 2020 Maxey committed the alleged offense of Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree by having been convicted of prior felonies.

Cameron A. Roberts of Pine Knot, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about December 19, 2019 Roberts committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about January 3, 2020 Roberts committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF.

Jacob Renfro of Stearns, KY was indicted on three counts. Count 1 states that on or about July 16, 2019 Renfro committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of buprenorphine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about September 26, 2019 Renfro committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of buprenorphine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 3 states that on or about July 16, 2019 Renfro committed the alleged offense of Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree having been convicted of a prior felony.

Heather Murphy of Pine Knot, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about December 19, 2019 Murphy committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity (5) of hydrocodone to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about December 20, 2019 Murphy committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity (5) of hydrocodone to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. 

Shona Williams of Stearns, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about July 16, 2019 Williams committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of buprenorphine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about September 23, 2019 Williams committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of buprenorphine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. 

Amanda Troxell of Stearns, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about January 22, 2020 Troxell committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of buprenorphine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about January 30, 2020 Troxell committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by selling a quantity of buprenorphine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF.

Angela Sellers of Pine Knot, KY was indicted on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about December 30, 2019 Sellers committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant for LCADTF. Count 2 states that on or about January 10, 2020 Sellers committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant for the LCADTF. 

Vernon Fuson, James Fuson and Brianna Jones, all of Parkers Lake, KY were indicted individually or in complicity with another for committing the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in defendant’s possession, for the purpose of sale, 2 grams or more of methamphetamine on or about March 21, 2021.

Darrell Harness of Robbins, TN was indicted on seven counts occurring on or about September 20, 2021. Count 1 alleges Harness committed the offense of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree by damaging a 2020 Ford Mustang causing a loss of $1000 or more. Count 2 alleges Harness committed the offense of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree by damaging a Ford Crown Victoria causing a loss of $1000 or more. Count 3 alleges Harness committed the offense of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree by damaging a 2017 Hyundai causing a loss of $1000 or more. Count 4 alleges Harness committed the offense of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree by damaging a door, windows and household items causing a loss in the amount of $1000 or more. Count 5 alleges Harness committed the offense of Terroristic Threatening in the Third Degree by threatening to kill or cause serious physical injury to persons at Signature Healthcare. Count 6 alleges Harness committed the offense of Receiving Stolen Property of the Value of $500 or More by receiving and possessing a 2009 Chevrolet Impala which had been stolen of the value of $1000 or more. Count 7 alleges Harness committed the offense of Burglary in the First Degree by entering a residence with the intent to commit another crime and threatening to cause physical injury to the home owner and family while in the residence.

Shelly Taylor of Stearns, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Flagrant Non Support from the dates of April 1, 2010 to October 31, 2021 by failing to make court order child support payment to her child for not less than six consecutive months and for an accumulating arrearage of $6093.70.

Karen Vanover of Parkers Lake, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Flagrant Non Support from the dates of June 1, 2015 to October 31, 2021 by failing to make court ordered child support payments to her children for an accumulating arrearage of $7,571.68.

Stephens Watters of Whitley City, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Flagrant Non Support from the dates of January 1, 2017 to October 31, 2021 by failing to make court order child support payments to his children for an accumulating arrearage of $12,199.07.

Christopher Maxwell of Stearns, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Flagrant Non Support from the dates of February 1, 2018 to October 31, 2021 by failing to make court ordered child support payments to his child for an accumulating arrearage of $12,210.00.

Nathan Hurd of Parkers Lake, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Flagrant Non Support from the dates of February 1, 2017 to October 31, 2021 by failing to make court ordered child support payments to his child for an accumulating arrearage of $19,320.60.
