The McCreary County Grand Jury returned indictments against six individuals this month on charges ranging from theft to drug trafficking.

Jones was also charged with being a Persistent Felony Offender after previous convictions in McCreary Circuit Court in 2017, and is still on probation for those cases.
Deborah Cox, of Whitley City, was indicted on counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Theft of Identity of Another without Consent for allegedly being found with a quantity of a controlled substance an May 23 and unlawfully using the personal identification of another individual.
William Patton, of Whitley City, was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for reportedly having over 2 grams of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale on August 6, as well as having items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal drugs.
Julian Spradlin, of Strunk, was indicted on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for allegedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine and a schedule II controlled substance on June 4.

The Voice would like to remind our readers that an indictment is not an indication of one’s guilt or innocence, but represents that enough evidence exists in a case to pursue the matter in a court of law.
