The McCreary Middle Archery Team recently traveled to Louisville, KY to compete in the National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament. This tournament consists of each student shooting a Genesis bow; a bare bow with no sights or equipment. The archers shot 3 rounds at 10 and 15 meters.

These students worked very hard all season in order to be able to attend this tournament. This was the first time McCreary Middle School qualified for this event. Only the top 100 middle schools in the state are invited to compete. In each meet they shot, their scores kept improving.

They ended their season with the highest score the team had ever shot, 3133, giving them a ranking of 61 out of 97. This was a wonderful way to end a very successful season and a great beginning for McCreary Middle School at the state tournament!
