Mark Your Calendar-Trail Days are Coming!

McCreary County’s four day festival begins Thursday, October 1

The launch of McCreary County Heritage Trail Days is set for next week, beginning Thursday, October 1 and continuing through Sunday, October 4.  Organizers are excited about the upcoming festival and are urging locals to get out, participate, and enjoy the fun and beauty offered by the outdoor-themed event.

Activities planned for the four day event include the following:

Thursday October 1

• Guided hikes to Yahoo Arch and Yahoo Falls

• Farmers’ Market/Seed Swap, Music, and Apple Roast

• Bird Watching Caravan

Friday October 2-Guided Hikes at Natural Arch and Yamacraw

• Gracie’s Walk (with pet tips) and USFS History Walk at Barren Fork followed by a free Cook-out (with storyteller Carson Payne and historian Sam Perry)

• Crafters’ Day at Craft Center

• Spooky night with Zombie Walk and Austin’s Basement

• Legends show at Uptown Opry

Saturday  October 3

• Quilt show

• Rock Creek Mountain Bike Ride

• Downtown Fest with Parade, Music, Childrens’ Activities

• Canoe Races at Reservoir

• 10K Trail Race

• Evening activities at Stearns include chili cook-off, music, vendors, classic cars, NPS programs

Sunday October 4

• Waffle Brunch & Sunday Dinner at Kristina’s Kitchen
