Raiders to visit Barbourville on Dec. 5

STEARNS – The McCreary Central Raiders will have exactly one week off before taking the floor for their next game. McCreary Central is scheduled to visit Barbourville for an early-season boys’ high school basketball game on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
McCreary Central is 1-0 after defeating host Rockcastle County 68-55 in a season opener on Tuesday night.
Barbourville pulled away to beat Jenkins 94-59 in its season opener on Tuesday night. Prior to hosting McCreary Central, Barbourville is slated to entertain Somerset one night earlier on Monday, Dec. 4.
The Raiders are slated to host Barbourville in a late-season matchup on February 8.
Barbourville competes in the 51st District and 13th Region. The Tigers ended the 2016-17 season 13-16 following a loss to Knox Central in the opening round of the 51st District Boys’ Basketball Tournament.
Senior guards Trenton Schall and Tanner Mills are back to lead the Tigers. Barbourville competes with Knox Central, Lynn Camp and Pineville in the 51st District.
Boys’ high school basketball teams from throughout the state tipped off their seasons earlier in the week.
McCreary Central has additional regular-season games remaining versus Danville, Beechwood, Garrard County, Somerset, Bell County, Russell County, Lincoln County, East Jessamine, Hazard, Leslie County, Middlesboro, Southwestern, Wayne County, Jackson County, Eastern, Lynn Camp, Clinton County, Williamsburg and Casey County.
Tip-off for the McCreary Central-Barbourville boys’ basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m..
