A Stearns man is behind bars after he reportedly broke in to a home and
assaulted the
homeowner with a knife and stole prescription medication.
Robbie Arnold Godsey, 38, was arrested and charged with counts of robbery and assault following the incident, which took place around 9:30 Tuesday night. Sheriff Randy Waters reports he and Deputy Stuart Bryant responded to a call on Clark Hollow Road of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival they interviewed the victim who stated Godsey entered his home and held a knife to his throat and stomach, and cut his thumb in the process. The victim stated Godsey broke several items in the home with the knife, including windows, a television set and a radio before taking the medication and leaving the scene.
Officers were able to locate Godsey a short time later hiding in a barn off Minnie Gregory Road. Godsey still had the knife in his possession.

He was lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center.
