Vicky Albertson, RN, LDE Achieves Certified Diabetes Educator Status

The National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) announced that Vicky Albertson, RN, LDE, Diabetes Educator, Lake Cumberland District Health Department achieved Certified Diabetes Educator® (CDE®) status by successfully completing the Certification Examination for Diabetes Educators. Candidates must meet rigorous eligibility requirements to be able to take the Examination. Achieving certification status demonstrates to people with diabetes and employers that the health care professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality of care for people with diabetes.

Vicky is a Registered Nurse and works as the Diabetes Educator for Clinton, Wayne, & McCreary Counties at the Lake Cumberland District Health Department. She received her associate’s degree in nursing from Somerset Community College in 2010.  She is a member of the Kentucky Diabetes Network and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. Vicky is a trained Lifestyle Coach for the National Diabetes Prevention & Control Program.   Her office is located at the Clinton County Health Department in Albany and she may be reached at 606-387-5711 EXT 4462.

Vicky is married to Donnie Albertson and has one daughter, Danielle, and one son, Derek.  She is the daughter of Charles and Mary Maxwell of Lenoir City, TN.
