McCreary teen dies in accident
A McCreary County teen died as a result of a one-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Dustin A. Strunk, 17, of Stearns was traveling northbound on Bee Rock Road shortly after 3:00 a.m. in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, when he apparently failed to negotiate a curve, striking an embankment and overturning.
Strunk was pronounced dead at the scene by the McCreary County Coroner.
The crash is being investigated by Trooper Wendell Higgenbotham, who was assisted at the scene by Trooper Tony Dingus, Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Meadows, McCreary County EMS, the Whitley City Fire Department and Eagle/Sawyer Fire Department.
