Election filing deadline passes
The final deadline for independent or non-partisan candidates wishing to run for political office this fall passed Tuesday, with a few individuals joining the ballot.
Larry Davis has filed for re-election in the School Board race in District 4. Davis, who was appointed to the seat last year, will be facing Rhonda (Meadows) Armijo in the November election.
District 2 School Board member Brandon Kidd will be running unopposed, barring a write-in candidate.
Four individuals have joined the race for the McCreary County Soil Conservation District. Earl D. Kidd, David L. Jones, Vernon Gilreath and Todd Martin will all appear on the ballot this fall.
Earl Brooks is running as an independent candidate for Magistrate in District 1 and Florence King has filed to run as an Independent in the PVA race.
Any potential write-in candidates for any of the races in the General Election have until October 24 to file with the Clerk’s Office.
