More than a dozen individuals were arrested as a result of a multi-agency drug round up Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Gus Skinner stated warrants were obtained against 11 suspects as a result of ongoing investigations by the Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky State Police and the Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force.
Law Enforcement Officers from the State Police, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, LCADTF and DEA fanned out across the county Wednesday morning to serve the warrants, and all suspects were placed under arrest.
“I want to thank the State Police, the Drug Task Force and Fish and Wildlife for their efforts in assisting us making these arrests,” Sheriff Skinner said. “We have been working together on these cases and I am happy to announce these arrests.”
“Cases like these often take time to develop to the point where we can make an arrest. But we are always working to rid our county of drugs.”
Sheriff Skinner said a quantity of drugs and cash were seized as part of the operation and additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
