On a “Jewell” of a Mission

Edna Horne was a McCreary County grandma who was determined to do something special for her granddaughter during last weekend’s McCreary Fest.

Clutching a July 22, 2003 edition of “Country Weekly” magazine and with Alexandra Horne, her now fifteen year old granddaughter, in tow, Edna was determined to get McCreary Fest concert performer, Buddy Jewell, to autograph the eleven year old country music magazine which included a photograph of Jewell with Alexandra, when she attended the CMA Fan Fair Festival in Nashville at the age of four.

Not only were Edna and Alexandra successful in getting the magazine autographed by Jewell, but they also managed to score a second photograph with the singer (this time including Grandmother Edna!)

Edna and Alexandra enjoyed talking with the performer who told Alexandra he might see her again in another ten years!
