Four injured in accident

Four people were transported for medical care following an accident last Thursday afternoon on Bethel Road in Pine Knot. The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. when Mealanie King apparently lost control of her Chevy 4×4 pickup on the wet road while traveling northbound. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head-on. A passenger, identified as Stephanie Ball had to be extricated from the vehicle by Pine Knot firefighters. King, Ball and two other juvenile passengers were transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment and examination, but no serious injuries were suspected. Deputy Tom Smith is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by McCreary County EMS, Pine Knot Fire Department and Freddie Patrick.
