At the annual Christmas dinner of Charles E. Moore Post 5127, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, awards  were presented to Ms. Kayli Vanover and Ms. Bonnie Hill as the first and second place winners of the Voice of Democracy contest.  The third place winner, Ms. Cheyenne Perry,  was unable to attend, but was honored also. First Sergeant Garry Galloway was recognized as the Post Teacher of the Year and presented with an official Resolution honoring him for his dedication as a teacher and coach at McCreary Central High School. For having won at the local Post level, both Ms. Vanover and Sgt. Galloway become eligible for contests at the District level. The VFW seeks to promote patriotism and civic responsibility and both contests are designed to serve that end. Congratulations are in order for all of those students who participated in the competition. In the eyes of the VFW, all are winners.
