Two indicted in sexual abuse case
The McCreary County Grand Jury returned a five-count indictment against two Whitley City individuals for allegedly committing sexual assault against a minor.
Michael Hollis and Linda Slaven face two charges of Sexual Abuse First degree, two charges of Criminal Abuse First Degree and one count of First degree Sodomy for a December 31, 2012 incident where the pair allegedly had deviant sexual contact with a female less than 12 years old as well as reportedly beating the child.
The case was presented by Kentucky State Police Detective Tracy Haynes.
Also indicted this month was Gary Gibson, of Williamsburg on a charge of Flagrant Non-Support for reportedly persistently failing to provide support for his minor children.
The Voice would like to remind our readers that an indictment is not an indication of one’s guilt or innocence, but represents that enough evidence exists in a case to pursue the matter in a court of law.
