Cotton named to All Region Team

McCreary Central Sophomore Kaylee Cotton received a special honor last week after being named to the 12th Region Coaches All Region Team.

Cotton received the fourth-most votes in the poll among all 12th Region Coaches, which she said was a big honor being selected by the coaches for her play throughout the year.

“I’m honored,” she said. “It is humbling to be named to the All Region Team, and be recognized by coaches throughout the 12th Region.”

Joining Cotton on the All Region First Team are Danville’s C.J. McPherson (Player of the Year), Seygan Robins of Mercer County, Southwestern’s Addison Corder and Heidi Huffman of Mercer County.

Second Team honors were; Emmie Harris, Boyd County, Samantha Fitzgerald, Southwestern, Emma Young, East Jessamine, Bethany Peyton, Wayne County, and Destiny Molden of Southwestern.

Lincoln County’s Tiandra Hocker, Boyle County’s Kalin Bottoms, Mercer County’s Catheryne Claunch, East Jessamine’s Sarah Rainwater and Lincoln County’s Spencer Sims were named to the Third Team.
