With spring quickly approaching, the McCreary County Adult Education Program is busy making plans. Students pictured below are preparing Easter eggs to be donated for the Community Egg Hunt to be held in April.  “It’s a way for the students, as well as staff, to give back to the community,” stated Mrs. Martha Ball, instructor with the McCreary Adult Education Program, located within the KCTCS/SCC, McCreary Center in Whitley City.  “We have used this as a learning exercise as well,” said Mrs. Ball.  This is the second year the Adult Education Program has participated with the County Park Easter Egg Hunt.

In addition to the egg hunt, the Adult Education Program is very busy this spring with new programs involving adult learners.  New classes and new teaching strategies are now in place to engage the students in the learning process.  Mrs. Claudia Anderson, assistant program director, is in the process of implementing a new program called GED Express.  This is a state-wide initiative which includes three avenues that will lead the adult student to the attainment of a GED.  Those wishing to participate in the Adult Education Program may visit the office in Room 149 of the McCreary Center or call 376-7506.
