Citizen seeking donations to clean up jail
Kimberly Coffey is asking local citizens and businesses to donate cleaning supplies and paint to help efforts to clean up the jail.
Coffey, who attended the Fiscal Court meeting last week, heard the magistrates discussing undertaking an effort to clean up the McCreary County Detention Center in preparation for a visit from Department of Corrections Officials.
Coffey has taken the lead to seek out local businesses and civic groups who may offer donations to purchase cleaning supplies and paint.
The jail was closed in January 2013.
People interested in donating can contact Coffey at the McCreary County Road Department at 376-8796 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., or on her cell at 310-6311.
