United Cumberland Bank Promotes 12 Professionals In McCreary County

Gordon Kidd, Chief Executive Officer of United Cumberland Bank, together with bank President Jim Johnson, today announced the promotions of 12 members of its McCreary County staff. Kidd said that Michael Bush has been named Vice President and Commercial Lending Officer while Lee Braden was named Vice President and Real Estate Department Manager. Becky Coffey was promoted to Vice President and Pine Knot Branch Manager; Sharon Hollis is promoted to Vice President; Lisa Ball promoted to Assistant Vice President and Consumer Loan Department Manager; Ryan Duncan to Assistant Vice President and Network Administrator and Kim Braden, promoted to Assistant Vice President and Risk Manager. Vanessa Bryant was named Assistant Vice President, BSA/AML Officer; Karen Tucker promoted to Assistant Vice President and North Branch Manager while Amanda Baird was named Assistant Cashier and Head Teller at the Main Office. He also said that Lena Sumner was promoted to Assistant Cashier and Assistant Branch Manager, Pine Knot; Hope Bryant to Loan Officer.

Bush joined United Cumberland Bank in late 2013, and brought more than a dozen years of commercial lending experience. He is responsible for the generation of new business loans as well as U.S. Small Business Administration loan originations and servicing. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Virginia and is a Graduate of the Kentucky General Banking School.  He has lived in Somerset for the past 17 years.

Braden has been in banking for 15 years, the past 14 with United Cumberland Bank. He oversees the area of soliciting, underwriting and coordinating residential and commercial real estate loans. Mr. Braden earned his Associates Degree in Business Management from Somerset Community College, a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and serves on the board of directors of the McCreary Co. Development Association.  Mr. Braden is a resident of Stearns.

Ms. Coffey has been affiliated with United Cumberland Bank for 38 years. During her tenure at the bank, she has worked as a teller, Customer Service Representative and is Branch Manager of the Pine Knot Branch. She completed Principles of Banking through the American Institute of Banking and other professional certificates during the course of her tenure at the bank. Ms. Coffey resides in Pine Knot.

Ms. Hollis has invested the past 46 years of her career with United Cumberland Bank. She has worked in the New Accounts area of the bank, branch management and currently works with merchant services along with debit and credit card management. She is a resident of Revelo.

Ms. Ball has been a part of the United Cumberland Bank family for 15 years. In her new role, in addition to lending, she will be overseeing other consumer lenders with an eye on compliance and adherence to policies and procedures. She is a resident of Whitley City and serves as on the board as Treasurer for the McCreary County Chamber of Commerce.

Duncan has been with UCB for two years. He has been in banking nearly six years and both installs and maintains the bank’s network hardware and software including administrative servers, desktop computers, printers, phones, smart phones, software deployment, security updates and patches. Mr. Duncan is a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Martin where he earned his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science In Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management Information Systems.  In 2014, he earned the ICBA Certified Community Bank Technology Officer training. He Is a resident of Oneida.

Ms. Braden has been with United Cumberland Bank for 23 years. A resident of Stearns, she manages the coordination of internal and external auditing and well as the bank’s compliance and third party independent reviews of risk for all areas of the bank. Additionally, she develops and administers programs for compliance with applicable laws and earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Union College. Ms. Braden also holds a certification from ICBA  as a Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer.

Ms. Vanessa Bryant has been in banking, and with United Cumberland Bank, for 11 years. A resident of Stearns, she manages the BSA Department and is responsible for developing and administering all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Program. She also conducts training and supervision within the department. Ms. Bryant is a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in History, she has served as Treasurer of the McCreary County Chamber of Commerce and the McCreary County Park Board. In August, she will graduate from the Graduate School of Banking Wisconsin.

Ms. Tucker will celebrate 25 years of banking in August, with her entire banking career invested at United Cumberland Bank. She lives in Whitley City and serves in a variety of roles at the North Branch including Branch Manager, teller line, administrating the bank’s Gold Club program and opening new accounts. She earned her Associate Degree in Business Management from Somerset Community College and serves on the board of the Leadership McCreary County and Selective Service. Ms. Tucker is a member of the Extension Council where she received the Friend of the Extension Award in 2014, the McCreary County Homemakers Club and she served on the MCHS Site Base Decision Making council for the 2014-2015 school year. Ms. Tucker resides in Whitley City.

Ms. Baird has been with United Cumberland Bank for nearly nine years and resides in the Pine Knot community.  Her responsibilities include Head Teller, assisting with New Accounts and helping tellers with customer issues as they arise. She has completed a number of American Institute of Banking courses during the course of her tenure at the bank.

Ms. Sumner has completed 18 years of banking at UCB She lives in Whitley City and serves in a variety of roles including Assistant Branch Manager, teller line, and opening new accounts. She attended classes at Somerset Community College and has taken several courses though the KY Bankers Association during her time at the bank.

Ms. Hope Bryant, a native of Whitley City, is a 1997 graduate of McCreary Central High School and attended the Kentucky Bankers Association’s General School of Banking. In 2014, she completed the NAGGL program addressing Small Business Administration lending held in Newport Beach, CA. She has also completed numerous seminars on lending, compliance, and policies. She joined United Cumberland Bank in 1998 and has served in various positions prior to becoming a Consumer Loan Officer at the main office in Whitley City.
