National Park Service Centennial Program on August 22 at Blue Heron Campground

John-Muir-3200-3x2Oneida, Tennessee:  The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area announces a 45 minute program at the Blue Heron Campground on Saturday, August 22, at 7:00 p.m. (ET).  Join Ranger Karen Thompson to learn more about how the National Park Service was established and how they are celebrating their 100th birthday.  Do you know who has the title of the “father” of the National Park Service?  Come to this fact-filled program to find out.

This ranger-led program will meet at the campfire circle inside the Blue Heron Campground and is handicap accessible.  The Blue Heron Campground is located in the Kentucky portion of Big South Fork, nine miles west of Stearns off Highway 742.  The program is free of charge and all are welcome.  For directions or additional information, please call the Blue Heron Interpretive Center at (606) 376-3787.
