6th Annual Regional Colon Cancer Community Forum Coming to Somerset

Somerset – The Lake Cumberland District Health Department will host the 6th Annual Kentucky Department for Public Health Colon Cancer Forum on Tuesday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset.

The Colon Cancer Forum is free and open to the public.  A few of the featured guest speakers include Lt. Gov. Crit Luallen, Dr. Tom Tucker (KY Cancer Registry/Program), and Dr. Whitney Jones (Colon Cancer Prevention Project).  “Lake Cumberland District Health Department is very excited to host this year’s forum,” comments Shawn Crabtree, Executive Director for the health department.  “Since all health insurance plans now fully cover Colon Cancer screenings, this forum will provide an opportune time for our state and region to come together to learn more about this deadly disease and the methods for early detection.”

For additional information or to register for the seminar, contact the Lake Cumberland District Health Department at 1-800-928-4416 ext. 1140 or register at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CCFallForum.   Continuing educational units (CEU’s) maybe available for health disciplines.
