Healthy Hike of the Week Sunset Overlook Trail on September 4

Oneida, Tennessee:  In celebration of the National Park Service’s upcoming centennial, Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will host a Healthy Hike on Friday, September 4, on Sunset Overlook Trail.  Participants should meet Ranger Mary Grimm at 9:30 a.m. (ET) at the Sunset Overlook trail located at the East Rim Trailhead.  This easy 2.6 mile hike includes the natural beauty of the land along with possible sightings of squirrels, wild turkey, and whitetail deer.  Bring plenty of water and snacks for this hike.  Expect to spend up to 2-3 hours on this program.  Come get fit while enjoying your national park!  Participants should wear weather appropriate clothing and bring bug spray.
