Heavy rain causes three vehicle collision

wreck

One person was injured in a three-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon after heavy rains caused hazardous driving conditions in Northern McCreary County. According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Craig Reed, Terri Montgomery, of Parkers Lake, was southbound on US 27, just south of the Pulaski County line, when the wet road conditions caused her Toyota Tundra to hydroplane. The vehicle struck a 2007 Chrysler, driven by Barbara Hart, of Sommersville, then continued on, striking a Chevrolet S10, driven by Jerry Foster of Science Hill, before finally crashing into a guardrail. The passenger of the pickup, identified as Misty Ashley, of Science Hill, was transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment. All other individuals in the accident were uninjured. Trooper Reed was assisted by Trooper Joel Wood, McCreary County Sheriff’s Deputy Charles Perry, McCreary County and Pulaski County EMS, and members of the North McCreary and Whitley City Fire Departments.
