Clerk’s audit clean
State Auditor Adam Edelen released his findings of in the 2014 audit of McCreary County Clerk Eric Haynes’ office.
Auditors looked at the 2014 financial records of the office and found zero instances of noncompliance and no matters involving financial reporting that were considered to be material weaknesses.
Haynes stated he was pleased with the report, and credited his staff for their work throughout the years.
“My staff is an integral part of this office, and they deserve a lot of the credit,” Haynes said. “They work hard on a day-to-day basis to keep this office running as well as it does.”
According to the report the county clerk’s responsibilities include collecting certain taxes, issuing licenses, maintaining county records and providing other services. The office is funded through fees collected through performing the duties.
