“Gifts From the Kitchen” is an annual event hosted by the McCreary County School District at the Christian Appalachian Project Community Center at Eagle. This year’s class featured how to make a “caramel apple in a jar” gift.
David Matthews, District Volunteer/Parent Involvement/Community Education Director said the event is always popular.
“With community education, we go a lot by the results of surveys,” Matthews remarked. “Through surveys, we have found a need for food and clothing. These yearly classes give parents ideas for cheap Christmas gifts that provide food.”
Matthews was assisted in presenting the class by Andrea Jones, 4-H Project Assistant for the County Extension services. Jones helped with the class to promote the Extension Agency’s emphasis on eating fruits and vegetables during the holiday season.
