Three people were airlifted to the University of Tennessee Hospital Sunday night after a semi crashed in to a tree in Pine Knot.

The Kentucky State Police reports a 2008 Kenworth, driven by Marty L. Webb, of Oneida, had been traveling eastbound on KY92 when he lost control of the vehicle, causing him to lose control and strike a tree near the Holly Hill community around 7:00 p.m.

Webb, 38, and his two passengers, identified as Paul Roydon, 38, and April Jeffers, 33, both of Oneida were listed in critical condition after the accident.

The cleanup and investigation into the crash closed the roadway for nearly six hours.

None of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts, and the use of drugs or alcohol is not known at this time.

KSP Vehicle Enforcement Officer Chris McQueen is leading the investigation and was assisted at the scene by members of the South McCreary Fire Department, McCreary County Sheriff’s Office and McCreary County EMS.
