Hicks, Clifford E, 65 of Cincinnati, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee. Survived by three daughters, Joyce Mattingly (Rick), Shannon Wolfe (James), and Deanna Hicks; one sister, Mary Spradlin; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Curtis Lee Hicks and Minnie Duncan Hicks and one brother, Roger Hicks.
Visitation will be 11:00AM-1:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home, 4389 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, 45223, where funeral services will be held starting at 1:00 P.M.

Gertie Swain Phillips age 97 of Stearns, Kentucky, widow of Elmer Swain and Herman Phillips, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Williamsburg Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Stearns Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday after 11:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.

Phyllis Jean Barlow-Richardson, age 53, of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Monday, January 18, 2016 at her residence.
Phyllis was born on November 22, 1962 in Somerset, KY, to the late Esmia Neeley Richardson and Clarence Turkey Richardson. She was a factory worker for OVC Sewing in Stearns, KY, and of the Baptist faith. She loved her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her dog.
She is survived by her husband, James Colyer of Somerset; stepsons, Michael Colyer and Robert (and Shannon) Colyer both of Somerset; like a son, Mickey Kidd; a daughter, Renee Richardson Aguirre (and Cesar) of Albany, KY; a brother, Tommy (and Beverly) Richardson of Whitley City, KY; a sister, Sybil (and Max) Warman of Whitley City, KY; grandchildren, Mya, Shanti, and Maverick Aguirre, Jaden Colyer, Mason Cook, Riley and Noah Colyer, Dakota, Hezekiha, and Obadiah King and Mickey Kidd; two special nieces, Anna Lou Richardson Nevels and Michelle (and Justin) Grundy; special great nephews, Hayden and Braxton Keith; special great nieces, Brooklyn Ross and Brittany Ross; and special friends, Joanne Crabtree King, Annette Walters Stephens, Joe Stephens and Deborah Hammond.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Lee Richardson; two sisters, Anna Lou Richardson and Rosa Coffey.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one grandson: Brentley Ray Wade Roberts.
Surviving family includes: his loving and caring wife of eight years Juanita Roberts, two sons: Billy Ray Roberts Jr (Stephanie) of Stearns, KY, Quinton Whalen of Revelo, KY, daughter: Erica Bradley (Johnathon) of Whitley City, KY, brothers: Danny Roberts (Emily), and Troy Roberts both of Marshes Siding, KY, sister: Kassy Grubb (Michael) of Marshes Siding, KY, grandchildren: Miley Slaven and Carson Bradley.
Billy was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and mud riding, He loved his family and grandchildren dearly. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James “Jim” Sweet, age 78, of Oneida, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee.

David Scott Terry age 53, of Oneida, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the University Medical Center of Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born July 23, 1962.
Scott was a born again Christian. He had love for his community and was an avid Soccer Coach and very competitive. Scott was a AYSO Soccer Coach for over 27 years for Oneida Middle School and Oneida High School. He loved all of his players as he would his own.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Charlene Whaley; grandmothers: Rose Upton and Edith Whaley.
He is survived by his wife for over 27 years: Teresa Phillips Terry; father: J.T. Terry and mother Margaret Terry both of Whitley City, Kentucky; a loving Daughter: Kelli Terry; (2) sister-in-laws: Kaitlyn King and husband Caleb and Sarah Grace Phillips both of Oneida, TN.; brother-in-law: Tim Phillips and wife Penny of Mt. Burial followed in the Cooper Memorial Gardens.

Ledford Baird, age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at his home in Pine Knot, Kentucky, with his family by his side.
Mr. Baird was a retired school teacher from the McCreary County Schools where he taught for 33 years and three years in Ohio prior to that. He was a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church since 1959. He taught Sunday School for several years. He was a member of the Big South Fork Beekeepers Association and enjoyed raising honeybees, farming and fishing.
He was born in at Creekmore, Kentucky, on October 7, 1935, the son of the late Joseph Fletcher and Myrtle Mae (Gilreath) Baird. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death two sisters: Iva Josephene Baird and Laura Esther Baird.
Surviving family include his wife Thelma Jean (Jeffers) Baird whom he married December 26, 1958. To that marriage was born five children: Terry Lee Baird (deceased), Doris June (and Jim) Williams of Strunk, Kentucky, Beverly Kay (and Jay) McKnight of Strunk, Barry Lynn (and Marilyn) Baird of Pine Knot, and Roger Allen (and Sharon) Baird of Nancy, Kentucky. He has one surviving sister, Shirley Fay (and Verlin) Lay of Strunk, three brothers: Fred (and Eileen) Baird of Pine Knot, Clyde (and Frances) Baird of Milford, Ohio and Alvin (and Sue) Baird also of Milford, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 16, 2016, with Rev. William Kilby and Bro. Harold Baird. Burial followed in Hayes Creek Cemetery

Michael Wayne Blanton, age 38, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by a granddaughter Taylor King, grandmother Goldie Mae Grundy and grandfather Earl Grundy
Michael was born in Somerset, Kentucky, on December 30, 1977. His mother is Shirley Grundy Woods of Pine Knot and father Lonnie Woods
He has a daughter, Heaven Blanton of Parkers Lake, two sons: Nathaniel Blanton of Pine Knot and Michael Keaton Blanton of Stearns, a granddaughter, Jaylynn King of Parkers Lake, and four sisters:: Debbie Slaven of Stearns, Sheila Bolin (and Stevie) of Stearns, Beth Phillips (and Greg) of Pine Knot and Teresa Carpenter of Somerset, three very special friends Wesley Heath, Junior Heath, and Jacqueline West, and several nieces and nephews.
Michael worked as a carpenter for Heath Construction. He enjoyed building houses, playing pool and camping. He enjoyed the precious time he was able to spend with his granddaughter and family.
Funeral services were Wednesday in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. David Burton officiating. Burial followed in Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Earl David Hickman, age 66, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016, at the Baptist Regional Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.
Mr. Hickman had been a truck driver having last worked for Key Transport in Sidney, Ohio. He was an avid Nascar fan.
He was born September 19, 1949, to the late Earl and Delphia (Nevels) Hickman. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Harold Dean Hickman, James Dallas Hickman, Donald Richard Hickman, and Johnny Hickman and two sisters: Ilene Hickman and Emma Carolyn Hickman Summers.
Surviving family include four sons: David William Hickman of Louisanna, Harold Dean Taylor also of Louisanna, Kenny Earl Hickman of Pine Knot, and Brian Lee Hickman of Helenwood, Tennessee, three daughters: Anna Marie Hickman and Melissa Gale Hickman both of Louisanna and Ruth Marie Hickman Bruce of Pine Knot, sisters: Charlene Burchett of Sidney, Ohio, Pauline Jones of Smithtown, Kentucky, Violet Jean Helman of Sidney and Janet Marie Driskell of Sidney, Ohio. He had 23 grandchildren.

Norma Sue Hill departed from this life on Thursday, January 14, 2016 being 58 years, 11 months and 14 days old. She was born in Paint Cliff, KY on January 31, 1957 daughter of the late Virgil Lee Conatser and Dean Keith Conatser Jones.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers: Virgil T. Conatser, Clatus Conatser, Virgil Conatser Jr, Logan Conatser, Coy Davis, Jerry Wayne Conatser, Ray Conatser, and two sisters: Bessie and Pearl Bray.
She is survived by her loving husband Larry Hill of Stearns, KY, daughter: Sherri and husband Clarence Winchester of Stearns, KY, son: Larry and wife Samantha Hill of Pine Knot, KY, grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Hunter and Kyler Winchester. She has two sisters:
Chris (Jimmy) Bolander of New Castle, Indiana and Edress Bell also of New Castle, brothers: Darrell Conatser of Hill Top, Kentucky and Conley Conatser of Sloans Valley, Kentucky.
Norma was a member of the Hill Top Baptist Church, she worked in Housekeeping and Dietary at Signature Health Care of McCreary County. She enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On January 16, 2016, Nancy Jo Hanna Hoff, of Alpine, was called by the Lord to join her late husband and host of family in Heaven.
Born on December 15, 1934, Nancy lived a full life, as a loving wife, mother, and active member of Neeley’s Creek Baptist Church.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde B. Hoff; and their daughter, Sandara Lafaye Hoff Gooch.
Nancy is survived by her children, Glenn and Rebecca Hoff Wesley, of Junction City, Michael and Kim Hoff, of Warner-Robins, Georgia, David Hoff and Laura Flynn, of Alpine, and Geoff and Dianna Hoff Michelli, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a sister, Susan Stegner, of McConnelsburg, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Gloria Hoff Monday, of Casselbury, Florida; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Neeley’s Creek Missionary Church, on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., with Bro. Jerry Frye officiating.
Visitation for family will be at 11:00 a.m., family and friends at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Neeley’s Creek Cemetery.

Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, Kevin Perkins; a brother, Brent Perkins;sisters, Irene Loy, Elsie Ridener, and Cora Perry; half brothers, Charlie, Ross, Wesley, Floyd, Earnest, and Henry Perkins; and half sisters, Alice Perkins, Lizzie Renfro, Durie Raines, Lucy Barnett, Amniel Vanover, Elsie Ridener, and Wilma Perkins.

Margie (Hammock) Watson, age 62, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 23, 1953, the daughter of the late Daniel Marshall and Goldie Marie (Vanover) Hammock. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Willie Watson, two brothers; Harold and Leslie Hammock, two sisters; Dorothy Bryant and Wilda Hammock.
Surviving family include her son; Daniel Watson and wife Juilena of Somerset, a daughter; Kathryn Hammock Hurless and husband Wendell of Somerset, a brother; Orville Hammock of Nicholasville, two sisters; Sherri Cooper and husband Johnny of Sidney, Ohio, Tammy Hammock of Richmond, a daughter-in-law Madonna Stephens and husband Robert of Somerset. Margie is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Margie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed food network and her grandchildren most of all.

Linda Maxey Crabtree, age 56, of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Saturday January 2, 2015 at the Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Linda was born on July 15, 1959, to the late Ed Maxey and Gene Spencer in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by Goldie Maxey which played the role has her mother.
Linda is survived by her fiancé Anthony Crabtree; daughter Tosha Maxey Hawkins and husband Eric of Whitley City; brother Robert Maxey of San Bernardino, California; five sisters Bridgett Vance and companion Allan Ritch and brother-in-law Randy (Ray Ray) Vance of Strunk, Tina Maxey of Eaton, Ohio, Tammy Lyons of Stearns, Debbie Maki and husband Bill of Amelia, Ohio, Judy Waters of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four grandchildren Shanay Maxey, Kevin Spradlin, William Stephens and Breanna Stephens.

Farron Anthony Genoe, age 61, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, January 08, 2016, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Scott County, Tennessee.
He was born February 8, 1954, to the late Bob Davis Genoe and Mildred (Ball) Tinch. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Bob Genoe, Wayne Genoe and Roland Genoe and two sisters: Kay Stephens and Melissa Robbin Genoe.
Surviving family include his wife Debbie (Seward) Genoe of Strunk, a son, Anthony Genoe (and Melissa Vanover) of Williamsburg, Kentucky, three daughters: Cassonia (and Jeff) Kidd of Whitley City, DeDe (and Stuart) Bryant of Whitley City, and Misty Genoe (and Joe Hicks) of Strunk, three brothers: Conan (and Debbie) Genoe of Revelo, Kentucky, Allen Genoe of Strunk and Charles Genoe of Battle Creek, Michigan, seven sisters: Linda (and Jimmy) Stephens of Pine Knot, Debbie Genoe of Pine Knot, Rebecca (and Rick) Mayberry of Wartburg, Tennessee, Kimberly Genoe of Revelo, Tonya (and Bradley) Anderson of Helenwood, Tennessee, Regina (and Eddie) Stanley of Strunk, and Shirley Tinkle of Michigan. Farron and Debbie were blessed with 15 grandchildren.
Farron was a retired cabinet maker. He was self-employed and had previously worked for Kentucky Cabinets, Whitis Cabinets, Terry King and Jim Whitehead building cabinets. He was an avid horse lover and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2016, at Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Wilson officiating and special music by Ann Richmond.
Burial was at the Pine Knot Memorial Gardens.

Crystal Gail King, age 35, of Pine Knot, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Crystal was born in Scott County, Tennessee, on October 12, 1980, the daughter of Emby “Pete” and Margie (Sexton) Strunk. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Theodore and Violet Sexton and Emby and Jewell Strunk and an infant brother Dewayne Strunk.
Surviving family include her parents: Pete and Margie Strunk of Pine Knot, brothers: David Sexton (fiancé Keri) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Kevin Strunk of South Carolina, Dustin Moorehouse of Pine Knot, and a nephew Tevin Strunk.
Crystal was a supervisor at Oakwood in Somerset where she enjoyed working. She was a member of the Hilltop United Missionary Baptist Church. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family whom she loved so very much.

Donald Lee Maxwell, age 67, of the Mt. View community of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
Donald was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 28, 1948, to the late Dillard and Dorothy Evelene (Wilson) Dixon. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Cora Alma “Mickey” (Phillips) Maxwell, his step-father Cecil Dixon, a brother Dillard Maxwell, Jr., and a sister, Darlene Judy Maxwell Canfield and grandparents Elihu and Marie (Hickman) Wilson and Dave and Susie Maxwell.
Surviving family include a son Brian Lee (and Melissa) Maxwell of Stearns, Kentucky, a daughter: Carla Reana (and Darren) Kidd of Stearns, brothers and sisters: Darrell (and Jan) Maxwell of Richmond, Kentucky, Dianna Lynn Maxwell of Richmond, Norma Jean “Jeannie” Dixon Burt, of Richmond, Kentucky and Johnny Wayne (and Debbie) Dixon of the Hilltop community of Stearns, grandchildren: Chelsea Reana (and William) Clark, Katlyn Kidd, Macy Maxwell and Garrett Maxwell and a great granddaughter Cora Ann Reana Clark and six nieces and six nephews and an uncle David Roy Wilson of Winfield, Tennessee.
Donald had worked in the coal mines for Blue Diamond Coal Company. He was a member of the Walkers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a pastor at Bell Farm Baptist Church for six years. He served his country in the Army as a Rank Specialist Four in Tokyo Japan.
He enjoyed being outdoors and took pleasure in camping and fishing and spending time with his family whose memory they will always cherish

Rita D. Roberts departed from this life on January 5, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital being 54 years, 28 days and 9 months old. She was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, on March 8, 1961 daughter of Albert Coffey and Elizabeth Baker.
She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, talking, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Rita is survived by her loving husband Bob Roberts of Stearns, KY, her son Triston Sunderlands ( Jennifer) of Whitley City, KY, three brothers: Robby Lee Coffey ( Sherry) of St. Mary, Ohio, James Edison Coffey ( Terri) of Salina, Ohio, Johnathon Eugene Coffey, of Stearns, KY, three grandchildren: Kylie, Kenzie, and Nicholas Sunderlands.

Vivian Watson Spradlin, age 48, of Oxford, Indiana, passed away Sunday January 3, 2016.
She was born on December 17, 1967 in Oneida, Tennessee to Luther “Luke” Watson and the late Ruth Watson.
Vivian is preceded in death by her mother Ruth Wastson; step mother Phyllis Watson; and her brother Lester Winchester.
Surviving family include her father Luther “Luke” Watson; husband Carl Spradlin; children Jodi Watson, Luke Watson and wife Tiffany, Steven Watson, Jacob Watson, Jessica Foster, and Karl Foster; brothers and sister Ann Foster, Susan Watson, Frances Crabtree, Joyce Foster, Roger Foster and Arnold Foster, Glenna Claire, Virginia Stetler, Ronnie Winchester, Pete Winchester, Mary Shuee, Debbie Logsdon, Steve Winchester, David Foster, and Becky Branscum. Also surviving is her six grandchildren that she loved dearly Kira Watson, Desiree Watson, Kendal Grace Whitehead, Tatum Watson, Wyatt Watson, and Paisley Watson.
Vivian married Carl on April 2, 1989 in Cooperative, Kentucky. She attended the Resurrection Life Christian Church before moving to Oxford to take care of her father Luke thru his illness. Vivian loved taking care of her flowers and her family. Her heart grew for her grandchildren and always loved to make people laugh.

Alvie H. Taylor, age 91, of Goshen, Ohio formerly of Pine Knot passed away December 21, 2015. He was the son of the late Asbel and Nannie (Manning) Taylor. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a son Gary Taylor; five brothers Arthur, Grover, Esbon, Junior, and Arnold Taylor; two sisters Verda Brown and Tava Douglas.
Survivors include his wife of seventy years Geneva Lovitt Taylor, whom he loved and cherished; son Kerry Wade Taylor Sr. and wife Ernestine of Columbia, Tennessee; daughter Peggy Taylor and friend Kathy of Crescent Springs, Kentucky; grandson Kerry Wade Taylor Jr. of North Carolina; two great grandsons Blake and Johnathon Taylor; two sisters Lou Vern Turner of Pine Knot and Belva King and Jim of Verona, Kentucky and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved and will miss him dearly.
Alvie served the United States Navy during World War II and retired from General Moters. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, country music, square dancing and spending time with his family. He was laid to rest December 28, 2015 at Graceland Memorial Gardens in Milford Ohio. Evans Funeral Home in Goshen, Ohio was in charge of arrangements and Rev. Junior Pitman officiated.

Marshel “JC” Vanover, age 76, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his daughters home in Paintlick, Kentucky.
JC was born May 21, 1939, in McCreary County, Kentucky, to the late Ralph and Clola Vanover. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother: Gale T. Vanover; brother-in-laws Jack Triplett and Dallas Buis; and grandson Jeremy Collins.
Surviving family include his companion Jewell Bowling of Stearns, three sons:Barry, Brian, and Ralph Vanover; two daughters Phyllis Vanover and companion Glen Partin and Jeannie Vaanover and Companion Richard Denny; two brothers Jerry Lee and Gary G. Vanover; three sisters Joy Marie Triplett, Nina Buis, and Rayma Norman and husband Ran; nineteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.
JC was a member of Indian Creek United Baptist Church of Christ as well as a member of the VFW in Oneida, Tennessee. He enjoyed truck driving because he made a career out it, loved his family and life as well, but one thing he really enjoyed was family time and trying to keep them straight.

Linda Maxey Crabtree, age 56 of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Saturday January 2, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset.
Linda was born on July 15, 1959 to the late Ed Maxey and Gene Spencer in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by Goldie Maxey which played the role has her mother.
Linda is survived by her fiancé Anthony Crabtree; daughter Tosha Maxey Hawkins and husband Eric of Whitley City; brother Robert Maxey of San Bernardino, California; five sisters Bridgett Vance and companion Allan Ritch and brother in law Randy (Ray Ray) Vance of Strunk, Tina Maxey of Eaton, Ohio, Tammy Lyons of Stearns, Debbie Maki and husband Bill of Amelia, Ohio, Judy Waters of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four grandchildren Shanay Maxey, Kevin Spradlin, William Stephens and Breanna Stephens.
Linda was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing bingo, family, and playing games.

He was born January 11, 1948 in Blue Heron, Kentucky to Virgil “Pete” and Minnie Ethel (Jones) Lewis. Larry was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, and had coached a softball team. He had been a sewing machine mechanic at the Shirt Factory and LeSportsac and was elected as a McCreary County Constable serving 8 years.
Preceding him in death are his parents; an infant sister, Fayrene Lewis; brothers and sisters, Lloyd Lewis, Eston Lewis, Lela Kidd, and Mildred Davis; and a granddaughter, Mckenzie LeeAnn.

He was born July 2, 1958 in Wayne County, Kentucky to Eddie Pearson and Gladys Coffey Pearson. Robert was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed four wheeling, swimming, fishing, and hunting. He loved to take care of animals and be with other people.
Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister, Glenda Faye Coffey, a niece, Shanda Dobbs, a brother-in-law, Clinton Dobbs, and his grandparents, Willie and Minnie Carter Coffey and John and Edna Pearson.

Ms. Perry was born in Parkers Lake, Kentucky, on February 7, 1947, to the late Clyde and Linda (Goodin) Vanover. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dester Perry (deceased 2004), a daughter, Rose Lee Vanover, a brother Herman Vanover and his wife Lois.
Surviving family include a son Allen Perry and his wife Melissa of Stearns, grandchildren: Lisa, Rayann, Robert Allen, Sr., (and Courtney) Perry and a great grandson, Robert Allen Perry, Jr.
Ms. Perry worked in housekeeping at DuPont Lodge at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. She enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling, Bluegrass and Gospel singing and spending time with her family.
