The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office, working with Sergeant Chris King of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and the Oneida Police Department, recovered two recreational vehicles stolen from Scott County in the New Liberty area.
Deputy Odell Smith reports he and Sgt King were contacted by detectives with the Oneida Police Department Saturday night concerning the possible location of a stolen 4-wheeler and side-by-side.
Aided by OPD Detective Billy Miller and Deputy Mike Tapley, the officers searched a location in New Liberty for more than an hour before discovering the vehicles “deep down in the woods” and recovered them.
The two vehicles had an estimated value of over $10,000.
The investigation is continuing jointly with the McCreary County Sheriff’s Department and Oneida Police Department and charges are expected to be filed against the suspects in the case.
