SCC To Hold Open Auditions For Sketches
Somerset – Somerset Community College Theatre will hold open auditions for its spring production of Sketches! on Monday and Tuesday, February 22 and 23. Sign-in will begin at 7 p.m. and auditions begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place in SCC’s Stoner Little Theatre, located at 808 Monticello Street in Somerset.
Director Mark Isham will be looking for a variety of performers to take roles in this evening of short comic sketches. An information packet which includes the audition scenes is available in SCC’s Fine Arts Suite in Stoner 104C, just down the hall from the theatre. An electronic copy is available by email request at Steve.Cleberg@kctcs.edu.
Sketches! is an annual springtime event at SCC and features the works of playwrights from around the world. Off-beat comic sketches are considered from over 200 submissions made annually to the college’s theatre program. Works are selected based on the talent pool at the February auditions. The production is slated to perform on April 15 and 16, 2016.
Talent will also be considered for two film projects to be directed by SCC Theatre Director Steve Cleberg. Connected is a short film which takes place during a radio call in show. Cleberg will be looking primarily for voice acting for this project. Principle photography on this project is planned for late February.
The other film project is for the next episode in SCC’s web series, Summerfalls. This episode, written by local screenwriter Chris Harris, is a continuation of the anthology series set on the fictional campus of Summerfalls Community College. The script calls for college aged talent in the principle roles as well as extras of various ages. Principle photography for this project is slated for May.
