An evening stroll in McCreary County can be a very interesting–especially when one goes herping (…searching for reptiles and amphibians.)  A recent late evening herping trip around the Barren Fork Heritage Trail provided a perfect opportunity to see an abundance of critters including four toed salamanders, millipedes, snails, newts, spring peepers, American toads, and more.
