Constable makes drug arrests

Constable Donald Daugherty arrested five individuals on trafficking charges after finding a quantity of suspected methamphetamine while attempting to serve a warrant.

According to the arrest citation Constable Daugherty went to a residence on Owens Road in Stearns while investigating a report of a subject who had outstanding warrants.

When he arrived on scene, along with McCreary County Sheriff’s Deputy Odell Smith and Kentucky State Police Trooper Shaler Jones, the officers spotted several items possibly associated with drug trafficking and began an expanded investigation.

The officers received consent to search a vehicle, where they discovered scales, plastic baggies, drug-related paraphernalia and a quantity of methamphetamine.

In all, five individuals were arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. Arrested were: Elizabeth A. Chambers, of Winfield, Ronnie A. Johnson, of Stearns, Timothy S. Ross, of Parkers Lake, Laura J. Taylor, of Parkers Lake and Daniel W. Taylor, of Parkers Lake. Ross was also charged with possession of marijuana.
