Despite gray skies, rain, and a slight chill in the air, 145 McCreary County volunteers showed up to take PRIDE in their community at the 19th annual PRIDE Cumberland Falls/HWY 90 Spring Clean Up. A total of 404 volunteers from McCreary/Whitley Counties and other locations picked up a total of 738 bags of trash, four tires, and three televisions. The volunteers worked a combined total of 1,616 hours and enjoyed a cook-out after their hard work. Awards were presented, and many received prizes. All volunteers received PRIDE t-shirts. PRIDE’s Tammy Wilson noted the McCreary County pick-up had less trash than previous years, an indication that anti-litter education might be having an impact.
