Man killed on U.S. 27
The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal accident that left a local man dead after he was hit by a vehicle on U.S. 27 late Tuesday night.
Details of the accident were sparse as of press time, but according to KSP Trooper Shaler Jones, the incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. in Revelo, near the Parkland Motel, where Bobby S. Stephens, 37, of Stearns was apparently walking on the highway, near the center-line of the road.
Jennifer L. Pugh, 41, of Pine Knot, was traveling southbound in a 2001 Dodge pick-up when she struck Stephens.
The victim received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by McCreary County Coroner Tim Corder. Pugh was reportedly unhurt in the accident. The portion of the road where the accident occurred was shut down for several hours for the investigation.
Trooper Jones is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office, the McCreary County Coroner’s Office, McCreary County EMS and the Whitley City Fire Department.
