Taylor chosen as new DPP

IMG_1328Clint Taylor has been hired as the new McCreary County School District Director of Pupil Personnel Superintendent Mike Cash announced Tuesday.

Taylor, Principal at McCreary County Middle School, will assume his new duties next week, and the Middle School will begin a search for a new Principal.

Taylor had served as an instructor for 14 years before assuming the Principal position in 2013.

“I’ve been in this school since 2000, and it really is like home to me,” Taylor said. “The staff and students are great to work with, and I know they will have a smooth transition.”

“I am very proud of all we have accomplished together, and believe they will continue to achieve and prosper.”

“But, I am also excited to work with the entire community and School Board to get our attendance rates up.”

The Director of Pupil Personnel is mainly responsible for monitoring attendance within a school district, coordinating Homebound students and working on developing the school calendar.

Rick Kenney, Vice Principal at McCreary Central High School, will assume Principal duties at the Middle School on an interim basis until the school’s Site Based Council can convene and seek applications, interview potential candidates and ultimately hire a new Principal.
