Volleyball District Tournament set

The Lady Raiders will face off against the Wayne County Lady Cardinals in the opening round of the 48th District Volleyball Tournament Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at Southwestern High School.

While none of the three teams in the tournament hold a winning record, McCreary Central, who ended their regular season with a record of 11-23, drew the third seed in the tourney due to a 0-4 record in District play.

Wayne County (12-16) defeated McCreary, 3-0, on both of their meetings this season, but lost twice to Southwestern to take the second seed.

The winner of the game will move on to face Southwestern (13-15) in the Championship game Tuesday night, starting at 7:00. Both of those teams will advance to the 12th Region Tournament, starting the following week.

Admission for the District Tournament games will be $5.
