Grand Jury indicts seven

In a light month the McCreary County Grand Jury issued five indictments against seven individuals in their latest session.

David Davis, of Pioneer was indicted on four counts, including Theft by Unlawful Taking, for allegedly unlawfully taking a Kamatsu loader, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Driving a Motor Vehicle while License is Revoked or Suspended for DUI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Loretta Bryant, of Whitley City, was indicted on one count of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card/ Over $500 for reportedly knowingly and unlawfully using a debit card issued to another individual to obtain cash and merchandise totaling $8,298.53 over a six-month period.

Bryant was also charged with being a Persistent Felony Offender after previous felony convictions in 2002, 2005 and 2006.

Kenneth Ball, of Williamsburg, was indicted on one count of Sexual Abuse First Degree and one count of Sodomy in the First Degree for allegedly engaging a six-year-old child in deviate sexual intercourse on June 12.

Devan Jones, of Whitley City, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for reportedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine on September 15.

Jason Laxton, of Winfield, Reuben L. West, of Huntsville, and Tina P. Large, address unknown, were charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking for reportedly taking tools and miscellaneous items of the value of $5,607 on August 6.
