Geneva Ann Angel passed from this life on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Northside Hospital in Canton, Georgia, being 91 years, 5 months, and 26 days old. She was born at Stearns, KY, on April 20, 1925 to the late Charlie Marshall and Loretta (Hancock) Hollers.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband: William Angel, granddaughter: Ginger Sexton, four great grandchildren: Lexi, Andara, Hadley, and Camden Angel, two son in laws: Rick Knopp and Junior Risner.
Surviving family includes four sons: Archie Angel and wife Brenda Sue of Parkers Lake, KY, Harold Angel and wife Bessie of Canton, GA, Kenny Angel and wife Brenda Kay of GA, and Roger Angel of GA; four daughters: Margie Atkinds and husband Roger of Stearns, KY , Lena Arnold and husband George of GA, Lois Knopp of GA, and Shirley Risner of Collinwood, TN. Twenty- Nine grandchildren, fifty six great grand grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.
Geneva was a member of the Sunshine Baptist Church, she was a homemaker, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral Services were Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in the Chapel of the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Holcomb officiating.

Judy Lynne Baltimore age 72 years, 3 months, and 17 days, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

She was born June 28, 1944 in Stearns, Kentucky to Elmer and Ruby (Gibson) Shepherd. Judy was a homemaker and a member of the Stearns Seventh Day Adventist Church. Judy enjoyed reading, discussing politics and cooking.
Preceding her in death are her father; and husband, Rodney Paul Baltimore.
Survivors include her mother, Ruby Shepherd of Stearns, Kentucky; sons, Paul Baltimore and wife, Teresa of Whitley City, Kentucky and Mike Baltimore and wife, Misty of Pine Knot, Kentucky; daughters, Sherry Ridener and husband, Shannon and Lisa Baltimore both of Whitley City, Kentucky; companion, Leroy Keith of Whitley City, Kentucky; brother, Ken Shepherd of Stearns, Kentucky; sisters, Barbara Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sue Johnson of Pioneer, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Blanche Bryant, age 92, passed from this life on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born September 21, 1924, at Honey Bee, Kentucky, to the late John C. and Martha Perry. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bryant, a son, Bobby Joe Bryant, two daughters: Myrtle Branscum and Linda Sumner, a brother, Claymon Perry and a sister: Chinia Bryant.
Surviving family include her children: Arvil Bryant (Margaret) of Stearns, Kentucky, Donald Bryant (Ruth) of Eubank, Kentucky, Jerry Bryant (Bobbie) of Pine Knot, Vonda Reynolds (Bill) of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Shelia Trammell (Larry) of Felicity, Ohio. She has 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Bryant had worked as an inspector for McCreary Manufacturing (shirt factory) and was a member of the Sandhill United Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers and her little dog, Angel. She was a worker and loved to work.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2016, in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Waters and Bro. Lenville Maxwell officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Sand Hill Cemetery. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
Herman M. Stephens, age 39, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016.
He was born November 21, 1974, the son of Charles Stephens, Sr. and the late Patricia Stephens.
He is survived by his father, Charles Stephens, Sr. of Winfield, Tennessee, a daughter, Kaley Kidd of Stearns and Chasity King whom he raised as a daughter, three brothers: Charles Stephens of LaGrange, Kentucky, Derek Stephens (Sharon) of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Sam Stephens (Megan) of Winfield, three sisters: Madge Grant (Larry, deceased) of Winfield, Dolly West (Richard) of Rockport, Kentucky, Candi Stephens (Desiree) of Oneida, Tennessee, and Mindy Berry (Michael) of Winfield.
He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
A gathering of family and friends for a farewell ceremony was held at the Winfield City Park on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.

Robert “Bob” Curtis Adams age 75 years, 4 months, and 5 days, of Science Hill, Kentucky, formerly of Stearns, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Dr. French Harmon and Dr. John Ditty officiating. Burial followed in the Angel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Wesley Dover, James Ball, Robert E. Stephens, Jr., John Weihr, Terry Lawson, and Buddy Wilson.
He was born June 26, 1941 in Eminence, Kentucky to Marshall T. Adams and Ophelia Zita (Waits) Adams. Bob retired from the United States Postal Service as a carrier and mail sorter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset. Bob loved music and helping at church when he was able. In past time, he served as choir director in several churches in the Louisville area. Bob also served as minister of music for the First Baptist Church of Whitley City. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren, and watching sports.
Preceding him in death is his father; his first wife, Carolyn (King) Adams; and a sister, Linda Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Lana (Bowlin) Adams whom he married, July 19, 2008; his mother, Ophelia Adams of Shelbyville, Kentucky; sons, Michael Todd Adams and Timothy Jay Adams, both of Danville, Kentucky; daughters, Jenny Lynn Davis and husband, Charles, of Seymour, Tennessee, and Janelle Stephens and husband, Lawrence, of Science Hill, Kentucky; a sister, Sandra Doolin and husband, Denny of Frankfort, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations please be made to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Bob’s memory.

Kenzley RaeLynn Bryant, infant daughter of Hayley Bryant passed away at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky on October 9, 2016. She was born on October 9, 2016 in Lexington, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by two great grandparents: Alma Wilson and Dean Phillips.
Along with her mother, Hayley Bryant, Kenzley is survived by her grandparents, Rodney and Diane Wilson of Pine Knot, Kentucky, great-grandparents, Cleo and Rachel Wilson of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Roger and Charolette New, of Wayne County, Kentucky. One uncle, Kyle Clark and his daughter Deslynn Clark of Stearns, Kentucky.

Manuel (M.C.) Chitwood, age 84, of Alexandria, KY, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Mercy Health Hospital-Anderson, Cincinnati, Ohio. His wife, Barbara (Palmer) Chitwood; son, David Wayne Chitwood; and three grandchildren were waiting for him in Heaven. Four brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Charles Chitwood, Lexington, KY; and four daughters: Deborah Chitwood, Alexandria, KY; Margie (Chitwood) Chichelli, Alexandria, KY; Terri (Chitwood) Moore, Bromley, KY; and Michele (Chitwood) Cantrell, Keavy, KY. He is also survived by five granddaughters, four grandsons, four great-granddaughters, and three great-grandsons. He is also survived by a sister, Almeda (Chitwood) New, Beaver Dam, KY.
M.C. was born on August 21, 1932, to the late Talmadge (T) and Laura (Creekmore) Chitwood. He was a proud member of the United States Coast Guard and served as an HVAC expert from 1949 until 1969 when he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 2. He returned to his hometown of Pine Knot, KY, in 1969 where he opened his own heating and air conditioning repair business. He moved his family to California in 1980 where he worked for McDonnell Douglas and the Carl’s Jr restaurant chain as an HVAC supervisor. M.C. and family returned to Kentucky in 1989.
M.C. loved to be surrounded by family and friends. He was a volunteer at McCreary Health and Rehabilitation, Pine Knot, KY, for 17 years. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends and his incredibly generous nature. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, hope, and love. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held at Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria, KY, on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 2-5pm. The funeral service was at 5pm with many loved ones in attendance. Rev Terry McBeath, M.C.’s nephew, officiated.

Maynard Darrell Cook, age 61, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Care Hospice Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was born March 6, 1955, in Marshes Siding, Kentucky, the son of the late Clellie and Carrie (Bryant) Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Herman Cook and Dewitt Cook, five sisters: Flora Cook, Audrey Cook, Stella Cook Bryant, Ella Mae Freels and Mildred Louise Wilson, and a grandson, Jacob Cook.
He is survived by his wife Halia (Gross) Cook whom he married August 17, 1973, their three children: Serena Crabtree of Whitley City, Roxanne Brown of London, Kentucky, and Westley Cook of Pine Knot, and their six grandchildren: Halia, Kloe, Taegan, Colton, Katlyn, and Bristol. He has one surviving sister: Lucille Snyder of Indiana, and three brothers: Clay Cook of Pine Knot, Bob Cook of Indiana, and Buck Cook of Georgia.
Darrell had been a police officer in Harlan County for seven years after graduating from the Police Academy at Eastern Kentucky University. He worked for a while for Mingo Coal Company in Williamsburg. Because of his love for golf, he became manager of the Stearns Golf Course for a few years where he first began work as a life guard at the Stearns pool. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and playing jokes on people. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Doug Sexton officiating. Burial was at the Bryant Cemetery in Whitley City.

Danny Ray Spradlin age 58 years, 7 months, and 14 days of Stearns, Kentucky, formerly of Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at his home.
In accordance to his wishes, he was cremated.
He was born February 24, 1958 in Sidney, Ohio to Cleo Spradlin and Ivina (Davis) Spradlin.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a brother, Leonard Spradlin; and a sister, Diane Spradlin.
Survivors include his sons, Chad Campbell and Jason Spradlin, both of Ohio, and Jessie Spradlin of Indiana; a daughter, Brittany Spradlin of Ohio; brothers, Willard, Curt, James, and Don Spradlin, all of Ohio; and grandchildren, Daizha Haight, Parker Young, Logan Spradlin, Savannah Spradlin, Emry Spradlin, Treytin Blackford, and Aydin Blackford.

Alvis Daniel West, 89 ½ years old, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, in his Riverview, FL home, surrounded by his loving family. At his side were his devoted wife of nearly 66 years, Betty Lou (Davis) West; his children Sheryl, Tim, and Allen; Allen’s wife, Juanita; and nephew, Rick West. Born on May 5, 1927, in Corbin, KY, he was the firstborn of Russell West and Dorthea (Ross) West of Strunk, McCreary County, KY, on Mine 18 Road.
During World War II, Alvis joined the U.S. Army and served in Germany. After Germany, he transferred to Japan and other stateside posts before being discharged and then re-enlisted in the Army for the Korean War, serving in various camps in Korea. In December 1950, before leaving for Korea, Alvis married Betty Lou Davis, also from McCreary County, KY, and married in Anderson, IN. After Alvis returned from Korea, they started their family in 1953 in Anderson and raised their three children in Anderson. They belonged to the Bethel Baptist Church in Muncie, IN. Alvis worked for over 35 years at Container Corporation in Anderson. He retired in 1989 and he and Betty Lou moved to Riverview, FL. Alvis became an avid fisherman and was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, Brandon Masonic Lodge #114, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Order of the Eastern Star and attended Riverstone Baptist Church, Riverview, FL.
Alvis is survived by his wife, Betty Lou; three children; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy West of Strunk, KY and sister, Betty Rose (West) Rich of Celina, TN. He is predeceased by his brother, Alford J. West; sisters, Fayrene A. (West) Hanner and D. Gaynelle (West) Whitaker.

Rebecca Susan Baker age 67 years, 2 months, and 15 days of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at her home.
In accordance to her wishes, Susan was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the family’s farm.
She was born July 19, 1949 in Somerset, Kentucky to James C. Shepherd and Thelma (King) Shepherd. Susan was a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and painting.

Survivors include her son, James Michael Baker (and Karen Keeton) of Oneida, Tennessee; a sister, Charlotte Mason of Brevard, North Carolina; and a host of other family and friends.

Rena Odell Dixon, age 67, of Wartburg, TN, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016, surrounded by family and love ones.
She was born in East Chicago, IN on November 27, 1948, daughter of the late Iris Odell Gower and Patricia (Mitchell) Riquelme. Rena is preceded in death by her daughter, Renita Crystal Clark.
Surviving family include her son, David Lee Dixon, II of Parkers Lake, KY, daughters Julia Marguerite Clark and Jennifer (Archie) Dawn Odell Hatfield both of Revelo, KY; grandchildren Holley Ann Tucker Stephens, Shawn Michael Alexander, Jessica Shelby Odell Alexander, Caleb Hatfield, Tiffany Dyanne Hatfield, Sebastian Wayne Bolen Clark, Miciah Aaron Lee Clark and Tihanna Breeze Dixon; great grandchildren Jacob Stephens, Aaron Alexander and Autumn Alexander. Siblings Betty Casiano and family, Jim (Ping) Tigner, Chrissy (Smokey) Clift, Brenda (Terry) Wilkening, Maggie (Michael) Scherette and Shawn (Samantha) Riquelme.
Ms. Rena Dixon was a writer of poems and short stories and an avid reader. She was a talented artisan and enjoyed creating crafts.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, October 16, at 1:00 p.m., at the Roberts Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life that will be held at McCreary County Park immediately following the graveside service.

Oscar F. Hamilton, age 94 years, 1 month, and 24 days passed from this life into eternity on Monday, October 10th, 2016, at his home in Sawyer Community of Parkers Lake, Kentucky.
Born August 16, 1922, he was the son of the late Joe and Elsie (Morgan) Hamilton. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice (Taylor) Hamilton, a son: Darrell Hamilton, four brothers: Walter Hamilton, Leonard Hamilton, Herman Hamilton and William Hamilton, a sister, Minnie Vanover and a step-grandson, Craig Johnson.
Surviving family include a son: Roger Hamilton (wife Anna) of Whitley City, Kentucky, two daughters: Arbadella Hamilton of Stearns, Kentucky and Linda Johnson (husband Ronald) of Russell Springs, Kentucky, a sister, Gertie Vanover (husband (Herald) of Mason, Ohio, a brother, Cornelius Hamilton (wife Irene) of Corbin, Kentucky, seven grandchildren: Lorie Stephens, Kristie Clayton, Melissa Rose, Crystal Mitchell, Charlotte Young, Steven Young, and Sara Stephens, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Oscar was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Mill Creek Methodist Church and a commissioner of the Eagle Sawyer Fire Department for 32 years. He was a member of the McCreary County Soil Conservation Service for 20 years. He was strong pillar of the community and helped everyone in the community. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at the Mill Creek Methodist Church. Burial will take place at the Mill Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at McCreary County Funeral Home. The Eagle Sawyer Fire Department personnel will serve as pall bearers and will escort the funeral procession from the funeral home to the church on Friday.

Eula Phillips, age 70, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Born in Pine Knot, Kentucky, on August 7, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Barnett and Noneda (Stephens) Barnett.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Barnett, her husband, Robert Phillips, and three sisters: Goldie Neal, Marilyn Alcorn and Pamela Lay.
Surviving family include her mother, Noneda Barnett of Pine Knot, a daughter, Rhonda Wright (husband Gary) of Burnside, Kentucky, three sons: Daniel Honeycutt (wife Ida) of Yuba City, California, Rocky Honeycutt (wife Angela) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Mark Honeycutt of Hillsboro, Ohio. She has nine grandchildren.
Eula was a homemaker and member of the Marsh Creek Baptist Church.

Mary Ellen Renfro, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at the Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
Born in Sycamore, Ohio, on May 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Casey and Eulalia (Hartzog) Sorg. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Tommy Renfro, two daughters: Rebecca Renfro and Robin Ridner, a brother: Gene Sorg, and two sisters: Helen Sorg and Margie Sorg.
Surviving family include six daughters: Virginia Fourman of Monticello, Kentucky, Bonnie Mettille (husband Allan) of Ottawa, IL, Connie Price (Fiancée Randy) Verjean Peace (husband Joe) of Rockholds, Kentucky, Cindy Gatts (husband Ralph) of Anna, Ohio, and Sandra Schenking of St. Mary, Ohio, a sister, Sherry Kline of Bucyrus, Ohio, and two brothers: Richard Close (wife Judy) of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Charlie Sorg. Mary had 15 grandchildren and some 50 great grandchildren.
Mary was a homemaker and member of the Rumley Baptist Church in Ohio. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, especially plastic canvas. She liked to do word books, playing solitary and reading.

Tucker, Cephas Blaine, was eighty years of age when he went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home.
Born Nov. 30, 1935 to the late Gilbert Tucker & Emma Koger Tucker in Hilltop, KY. Attended and graduated from Berea College, then the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. For 60+ years he was active in ministry serving God and people. Led pastorates in Kentucky (Payneville & Henderson), Indiana (Brownsburg), North Carolina (Asheville) and Georgia (Doraville), and was an elder for many years at Church of Life in Madisonville. Taught or administrated in schools in Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia and Tennessee. Served the last years of his career in Monroe County, TN where he was dearly loved by staff and students. Loyal, faithful, funny, witty, caring, gentle and a true nobleman, in times when those are scarce, describe Blaine Tucker. He exemplified God’s love and will be dearly missed by family and friends. His favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 54:13 “All my children shall be taught by the Lord and great shall be the peace of your children”.

Steven “Ernie” Watson, Sr. age 58, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016, at his home in Stearns, Kentucky.
He was born on July 6, 1958, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Elmon and Ninnie Watson. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Roger Watson, Kelly Watson and Bobby Glenn Watson.
Surviving family include his wife Lois (Cox) Watson, whom he married September 3, 1977, of Stearns, three sons: Steven Ernie Watson, Jr. (wife Vanessa) of Pine Knot, Billy Joe “B.J.” Watson (wife Amanda) of Whitley City, and Jonathan Kelly Watson of Stearns, Kentucky, three grandchildren: Kaylee Watson, Jordan Watson and Maleah Watson, two sisters: Shirley Jean Leslie of Foley, Alabama and Alice Upchurch (husband Allan) of Revelo, Kentucky, and four brothers: Eddie Watson of Whitley City, Jimmy Watson of Muncie, Indiana, Troy Watson of Stearns and Billy Watson.
Ernie was a truck driver and member of the Ross Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed building old cars, fishing and walking his dog.

Rebecca Susan Baker age 67 of Stearns, Kentucky, mother of James Michael Baker, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at her home.
In accordance to her wishes, Mrs. Baker was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the family farm.

Lyonel Oval Beatty, age 70, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016, at the Baptist Health Lexington Center.
He was born in Garrett, Kentucky, on August 2, 1946, the son of the late Don E and Bessie Ann (Howard) Beatty. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Blayne Beatty and Herbert Beatty and a sister: Patricia Ann Burrow.
Surviving family include his wife Charlotte (Gibson) Beatty of Parkers Lake, a daughter, Charlena Beatty Goodpaster of Parkers Lake, a sister, Donna Wilson of Burnside, Kentucky, three grandchildren: Aaron Christian Goodpaster, Devan Scott Goodpaster and Emory Lynn Goodpaster, and Russell (and Linda) Collins of Parkers Lake who was like a son to him.
Mr. Beatty was a 49 year member of the Boilermakers Local Lodge 40. He was a member of the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634, and a member of the Sloans Valley Baptist Church.

Edward Floyd Gregory, age 77, 10 months, and 29 days passed from this life into eternity on Monday, October 3rd, 2016, at his birthplace in Stearns, Kentucky.
Born November 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Floyd and Roberta (Hughett) Gregory. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother: Donald Gregory.
Surviving family include his wife, Leatha (Corder) Gregory whom he married in 1961, two daughters: Sheila Morgan, Clarksville, TN and Mary Winchester (husband Dewayne) of Stearns, KY, two sons: Michael Gregory and (wife Glenna) of Pine Knot, KY and Steven Gregory (wife Bruna) of Annapolis, MD, a sister, Betty Perkins (husband Harvey) of Holly Hill, two brothers: Clifford “Ronald” Gregory (wife Judy) of Indianapolis, IN and Roger Gregory of Cloverdale, IN and ten grandchildren: Candy, Brandon, Daniel, Jordan, Tony, Christy, Alex, Chelsea, Jeremiah, Benjamin, six great grandchildren: Sam, Lucas, Joshua, Ryder, Joshua, and Hayley, one great-great grandchild: Journey.
Edward was a coal miner for the Blue Diamond Stearns Coal Company. He was a member of the East Stearns Church of God and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He enjoyed gardening, farming, and raising animals. He had a love of hiking and nature, and did his part to give back by planting the trees provided by the McCreary County Extension Service.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 7:00 PM, at McCreary County Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM. Burial will be Friday, with funeral procession to leave McCreary County Funeral Home at 10:30 AM, with Military Honors graveside, provided by the American Legion Post #115 at Stearns Cemetery at 11:00 AM.

Vida Lucille King, age 100, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away on Friday September 30, 2016 at the Signature Health Care in Pine Knot.
Funeral services were Sunday October 2, 2016, at 2:00pm in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Jones and Bro. Gary Boyatt officiating with burial to follow in the Duncan Cemetery.
She was born at Foster Crossroads. Tennessee, on June 15, 1916, daughter of the late John Melton and Ella (Foster) Watters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Herbert King whom she married on April 18, 1937; son Roger Hal King, four brothers Chester A, Warren G., Holland, and Willis Watters, four sisters Gladys Wilson, Jewel Boyatt, Christine Watters, and Myrtle Manley, two grandchildren Debra Elaine King and Herbert Lee King.
Surviving family include her daughter Dale King Crabtree, six grandchildren Kathy Lynn Yancey, Robin Gregory, Rita Crew, Katrina King, Betti Perry, and Roger Hal King Jr., ten great grandchildren along with two great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Olan Watters. She has a special daughter-in-law Roberta King.
Lucille was the oldest member at the New Hope Baptist Church. She loved going to church and singing in the church choir. Lucille enjoyed planting flowers and babysitting kids.

Diann Long passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her home in Casey County, KY. She was 69.
Born September 16, 1947 in McCreary County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Goldie Stanfill Rowe. Diann was a member of the Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church and a homemaker. She was a foster parent for 16 years and a member/treasure of the Dorcas Quilting Club.
Survivors include her husband, Buddy Long, whom she married in 1984; 5 sons, Jonathon (and Jennifer) Shoemaker and Tommy Long, both of Liberty, Mark (and Rachel) Long of Lexington, Lionel (and Melanie) Long of Panama City, Florida, and Loren (and Laura) Long of Salvisa; 4 daughters, Sylvia (and James) Stinson, Ashely (and John) Blevins, and Rachel Long, all three of Liberty, and Leeza Long of Danville; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Sylvia Stephens of McCreary County, Eleanor Malkowski of Montana, and Hazel Duvall Of Liberty; and 3 brothers, Leroy, Ronald, and Boyd Rowe, all of McCreary County.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Stanton Long; grandchild, Tyler Cook; sister, Jean Rowe; and best friend, Mary Lee Wilson.

Gertie Phillips, age 85, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Signature Health Care Center in Pine Knot.
Born September 3, 1931, in Slaven, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Myrtle (Koger) Jones. Also preceding her in death was her brother Dee and Dillmon Jones; three sisters Gathia Roysdon, Stella Jones, and Kathy Jones.
Surviving family include her son Bobby Jones, Sr. (wife Nola) of Pine Knot; three brothers Wolford Jones of Slaven, Kentucky, Golmand Jones of Lafayette, Indiana, Harvey Jones (wife Kay) of Lafayette; four sisters Zella Mendoza of Monticello, Kentucky, Bertha Worley of Stearns, Kentucky, Clova Koger of Oneida, Tennessee, and Curlie Matthews of Whitley City, Kentucky. She had two grandchildren: Bobby Jones, Jr. (wife Laura) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Michelle Jones Thompson (husband Craig) of Indianapolis, Indiana.

George Silas “Bear” Strunk, age 76, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed from this life into eternity on Monday, October 3, 2016, at the Baptist Health Corbin Hospital.
Born September 18, 1940, in McCreary County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Luther and Lora (Bryant) Strunk. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, George Dwayne Strunk, a brother: Paul Strunk, three sisters: Beulah Brim, Flora Lawson and Pauline Roysdon.
Surviving family include his wife, Elverlie (Troxell) Strunk whom he married in 1963, two daughters: Alice Marie Keith (husband Paul) of Stearns and Janice Godsey (husband Arnold) of Whitley City, Kentucky, a sister, Evelyn Troxell (husband Elmer) of Whitley City, and three grandchildren: Paul Silas Keith (wife Shannon), Eric Keith and Jesse Keith.
George had worked in saw mills and was self-employed. He was a member of the Hill Top Baptist Church. He loved to trade knives and guns and to flea market. He enjoyed reading and listening to gospel music, but most of all, he took great pleasure in the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.

Jane Imadean Stephens age 50 years, 1 month, and 14 days of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
In accordance to her wishes, Jane was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born August 17, 1966 in Somerset, Kentucky to Scott Lee Stephens and Wanda Lou (Daugherty) Stephens. Jane was a member of the United Church of God. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include her parents, Scott and Wanda of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Charlotte Fay Stephens, also of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Rachael Lee Anderson and husband, Joe, of Revelo, Kentucky; a niece, Rebecca LeAnn Anderson; and nephews, Justin Anderson, Scotty Jones, and Dustin Jones.

Wilma June Waters age 86 years, 2months, and 23 days of Stearns, Kentucky passed on to her eternal life on September 27, 2016 at her home.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Bryant and Bro. Daniel Wightman officiating. Burial followed in the Tom Jones Cemetery in Cooperative, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers were Cole Loudermilk, Zack Loudermilk, Stephen Mounce, Jason Strunk, David Waters, and Steven King.
Wilma was a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church. She lived a Christian life and was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to all. She taught school at Dobbs Hollow for two years after attending Eastern Kentucky University. She retired from the McCreary County Public Library in 2011 after 33 years of devoted service. She believed if you could read that your mind could take you anywhere.
Wilma was a member of various organizations that involved charitable work and volunteering. She was the first woman to be nominated for the McCreary County Board of Elections. She was also a 58 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star having first joined the Vicco Chapter in Perry County, Kentucky in 1958 before returning to Stearns where she continued her membership at the Laurel Heights Chapter #288. Wilma held the positions of Star Points, Grand Representative for Oklahoma in Kentucky, Worthy Matron, District Deputy Matron, Secretary, and Treasurer. Wilma believed in the principals of charity, faith, hospitality, and most of all love.
Wilma was born in Co-operative, Kentucky the daughter of the late Francis Marion and India Jayne (Jones) Cooper. Her maternal grandparents were the late Thomas Sherman and Elizabeth (Ramsey) Jones and her paternal grandparents were the late Edward Wilson and Elizabeth (Shepherd) Cooper. On May 21, 1951, Wilma married the love of her life, the late LeRoy “Bud” Waters in Jellico, Tennessee.
Wilma is preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandparents; brothers, George Howard Cooper, Thomas Harlen (Bob) Cooper, Jonathon Edward Cooper, and Marion (baby Marion) Cooper; two half brothers, Harold Denton Cooper and Glen W. Cooper; three sisters, Beulah Cooper, Thelma (Cooper) Watters, and Lois Ann (Cooper) Watters; one daughter, Belinda Jayne (Waters) Chitwood; two granddaughters, Amanda Dawn Miller and Randi Elaine Chitwood; and one grandson, Daniel Ray Owens.
Wilma is survived by her children, Joe Waters and wife, Joy, Marisa Dawn and husband, Phillip Strunk, Jeff and wife, Audrey Faye Waters, Lori Watters Miller, Libby and husband, Jerry Pennington all of Stearns, Kentucky, Tim Waters of Newport, Kentucky, Sue Carol and husband John Powers of Anson, Texas, and Evonne and husband, Leonard Kennedy; grandchildren, David Waters, Kylie Waters, Jason Strunk, Carri Strunk, Jennifer Mounce, Lauren Pennington, Lyndsey Pennington, Brooklyne Chitwood, Benjamin Kennedy, Amy Powers, and Christopher Powers; great grandchildren, Jude Waters, Seth Waters, Ava Kate Whipple, Kara Grace Whipple, Lucas Strunk, Logan Strunk, Cole Loudermilk, Zackery Loudermilk, Abbi Mounce, Bella Mounce and Josh Powers; Wilma is also survived by many relatives and special friends, including nephew, Tom Watters and wife, Phoebia, Stacy Matthews and her daughter, Allie Hobbs.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Eloise (Sexton) Watson age 54 years, 8 months, and 3 days, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 after a long battle of heart disease in the comfort of her home in Stearns, Kentucky. Her devotion to God and family support in her struggle ultimately gave peace.
Funeral services was held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Willis Troxell and Bro. Troy E. Watson officiating. Burial followed in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Lucas Waters, Chris Whalen, Stewart Jones, Gary Honeycutt, Bill Clark, and Artemus Stephens.
Jackie was born on January 24, 1962 in Lafayette, Indiana to Clyde Sexton and Jackie (Fields) Sexton. Jackie is preceded in death by her father Clyde. Her mother, Jackie Austin resides in Lafayette, Indiana.
On September 24, 1977, Jackie and Troy Watson took an oath to God in marriage. Jackie later gave birth to three beautiful children, the late Cassandra Jacqueline, Troy Elmon (and wife, Shyanne), and Daniel Patton Watson. She raised her boys with patience, discipline, and humility by her faith in God. Jackie taught them to love God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the word of God. Her strong faith and devotion in the Lord lead her oldest son, Troy, to become a preacher, and her youngest, Daniel, to be a kind hearted young man. Jackie wanted nothing more than for her sons to listen and follow God’s plan for them.
Jackie had three siblings, Patricia Young and Kathy Fisher of Lafayette Indiana, and the late Jerry Sexton. Jackie also had a sister by choice, Rose Mary Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.
One of her greatest joys was the birth of grandchildren. The first born, Cassandra Watson and youngest, Aleah Watson. She loved the days she got to spend with them, especially when they were able to sneak to Nana’s house. Her heart may have failed, but the love she received from her family and friends filled it to the max.
The Watson family want to thank each and every one for your support and love during this troublesome, but rejoicing time. Jackie was so anxious to go home and be with Jesus.
