October OC Tax numbers released
October Occupational Tax receipts were higher than previous collections over the past four years, putting total collections on pace to exceed original expectations.
According to the McCreary County Judge Executive’s Office a total of $118,377.35 was generated over the course of last month, surpassing last year’s total of $95,901, making it the highest total collections for the month since monthly totals were released.
Through the first four months of the fiscal year the tax has generated just over $401,000 – more than $100,000 per month in average. If the collection rate continues at the current average more than $1.2 million in occupational tax will have been raised and put in to the General Fund, about $100,000 above what was originally budgeted.
