Small Business Saturday is November 26

McCreary Countians will be able to get special deals and opportunities when they shop local on Saturday, November 26.

As part of Small Business Saturday, a national event celebrated every year on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving and founded by American Express in 2010 to encourage support of small businesses, the McCreary County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second “Small Business Saturday” by organizing shopper discounts and promotions at local “mom and pop” shops.  The Chamber has been busy signing up members who wish to participate by having special offers and contests for customers who shop local on that day.  The Chamber will also be giving away cash prizes to shoppers.  The Chamber’s goal, of course, is to encourage shoppers to seek out specialized service and product knowledge from small businesses and keep holiday shopping dollars in McCreary County.

Additionally, the McCreary County Public Library is sponsoring a “Shop Local” event as its contribution to the celebration of “Small Business Saturday.”  With thirty vendors already on board, shoppers will be able to choose from a wide variety of unique products.  Vendors thus far include:  Simple Tymes, Little Ladies Boutique, Little Boy Blue, Scentsy, Bradley’s Gourmet Coffee, Jamberry, and many, many more.  There will also be hourly door prize drawings using prizes donated from the vendors.

Vendors will be set up at the Library on Saturday, November 26 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
