Arby’s/KFC Classic tips off next week

The Raiders will host the annual Arby’s/KFC Holiday classic next week featuring four days on non-stop hoops action.

This year the tournament features Whitley County, Washington County, Louisville Southern, Lynn Camp and Wayne County.

The action starts Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. with the Raiders taking on Lynn Camp in the tourney opener, followed by Southern v. Wayne at 6:30 and Washington County and Whitley County squaring off at 8:00.

Action continues throughout the week with McCreary playing Whitley County on Friday night at 8:00 to close out the event.

The Raiders (2-1) are coming off a weekend split at the Bowman Classic in Lynn Camp last week.

On Thursday McCreary knocked off Barbourville, 69-63, getting 21 points from Devon Hamilton and Hunter Jones to lead the way. Ryan Jones, 17, Nick Longmire, 7, and Brandon Troxell, 3, wrapped up the scoring.

On Friday the Raiders dropped their first game of the season with a close 57-54 loss against Lynn Camp. The Raiders were led by Troxell with 13 points, followed by Hamilton with 13, H. Jones with 11, R. Jones with 10, Tyler Strunk with 3 and John Cash with 1.

The Raiders open at home tonight, hosting Somerset.
