David Allen Kidd age 73 years, 1 month, and 24 days of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born October 23, 1943 in Oneida, Tennessee, the son of the late, Denton Kidd and Aldena (Dobbs) Kidd. Besides his parents, David is proceeded in death by a son, Derek Kidd, and a brother, Gary Kidd.
Surviving family includes his wife, Christine “Chris” (Truax) Kidd of Pine Knot, Kentucky, sons, David Allen Kidd, Jr. of Muncie, Indiana, and Darrin Kidd (and Savannah); a daughter, Melissa Sue Kidd of Muncie, Indiana; a brother, Martin Kidd of Muncie, Indiana; a sister, Linda Dobbs (and Jack) also of Muncie, Indiana; grandchildren, Charles, Ashley, and Joshua Stockwell, Courtney, Danielle, Elizabeth, Chloe, Darian, and Hunter Kidd; and great-grandchildren, Zach, Stephen, Evelynn, Lucius, Lilly, and one more soon to come.
In accordance to David’s wishes, he was cremated.

Donna Meadors, age 53, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
Donna was born in McCreary County on February 26, 1963, to the late Hurstle and Myrtle (King) Meadors. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers: Jessie King and Danny King.
Surviving family include a son, Scott Meadors of Pine Knot, a daughter, Amy Meadors (husband Daniel Lay) of Pine Knot, three brothers: Marshall King of Pine Knot, Michael Meadors (wife Bernice) of Monticello and Ed Meadors (wife Jessica) of Somerset, Kentucky, a sister Katherine Gilreath (husband Richard “Hot Rod”) of Pine Knot, and four grandchildren: Bryson Meadors, Kiya Parks, Allen Lay and Aaron Lay.
Donna was a homemaker and member of the New Liberty Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, December 16, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Terry West and bro. Jason Bertrum officiating. She was laid to rest at the Pine Knot Cemetery.

Bertha “Mildred” Owens, age 88 of Dayton, reunited with her husband, David Earl Owens on December 14, 2016. She was born June 5, 1928 in Flossie, KY to the late Earl and Dora (Tucker) Keith. In addition to her husband and parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her siblings, Ola Dearth, Myrtle Rosell, Raymond Keith, Willa Dean Keith and Elsie Seiber.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Brenda) Owens and Jimmy (Becky) Owens; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; sister, Mattie Denny; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mildred was a member of North Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with family.
Funeral service was on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd.
Graveside services were conducted on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Nevelsville Cemetery.

Cleatus Slaven passed away December 12, 2016 in California. Cleatus was born to the late Joseph Castlo Slaven and Betty Thomas Slaven in Co-Operative, KY on February 18, 1930.
Cleatus is survived by 3 daughters (3 sons-in-law), 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, sisters Jan Reed and Frances Ball of KY, and brothers Don Slaven and George Slaven of TN.
Cleatus was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ellen Slaven, his brothers Fred, Frank, Burman, and Junior Slaven, and his sister Jean Hites.
Cleatus spent 26 years and 9 months in the United States Air Force; he retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9). Cleatus traveled the world with the Air Force; he served in the Berlin Airlift and in Vietnam. He worked as a Logistical Engineer with Northrop Grumman for 16 years. He loved to share wonderful and funny stories of his childhood in Kentucky. He never met a stranger; he was simply a wonderful man. He will be greatly missed.

Scottie Ray Slaven, age 64, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at his home in Marshes Siding, Kentucky.
He was born on April 2, 1952, the son of the late Hurstle E. and Vivian (Strunk) Slaven.
Surviving family include his wife, Judy Slaven of Marshes Siding, a son, Billy Slaven, (wife Jennifer) of Marshes Siding, two brothers: David Slaven of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Ronald Joe Slaven of Tateville, Kentucky, three grandchildren: Katie Coffey, Kyler Slaven, and Aaron Slaven, and two great grandchildren: Noahlee Slaven and Jacey Coffey.
Scottie was a bus driver for the McCreary County Schools and a member of the Sandhill United Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, his kids, grandkids and his dogs. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the McCreary County Sportsman Club.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2016, in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Coffey, Bro. Rusty Spradlin, and Bro Rodney Corder officiating. He was laid to rest at the Taylor Ridge Cemetery.

Arlis Stephens, age 73, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2016, at Jellico Community Hospital in Jellico, Tennessee. He was born in Duck Run, Kentucky, on December 14, 1944, son of the late Arthur and Flossie Cox Stephens.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Alford Stephens, Ellard Stephens and Ralph Stephens.
Surviving family include his son: Clayton Stephens of New Carlise, Ohio, brothers: Arthur and wife Sandy of Fairborne, Ohio, Leslie Stephens and wife Jewell of Pittsburg, Kentucky, sisters: Patsy Storms of Fairborne, Ohio and Peggy Meadows of Strunk, Kentucky. One Granddaughter: Sierra Stephens of Dayton, Ohio.
Arlis was an Army Veteran and was retired from Chrysler Corporation, a member of the American Legion Post 115 in Stearns, Kentucky and a member of the Antique Car Shows. He enjoyed working on antique cars and around his home. He will be sadly missed by his loving family.
Burial was at Angel Cemetery on December 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM.

Virginia Trammell, age 67, of Burnside, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Virginia was born on February 15, 1949, in Missouri, daughter of the late Jack Mark and Jerushamae “Ruth” Bryant Hill. She worked for eight years as a certified nurse’s assistant for McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Facility, but was always a homemaker. Virginia enjoyed life. She was always humming and singing praises to the Lord; there wasn’t a day that went by she didn’t thank God for. Virginia loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She was a member of the Christ Gospel Church, of Attica, Indiana. Virginia’s favorite activities were attending church and playing with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to color and draw with the kids. Virginia loved watching westerns on television and listening to gospel music and “oldies but goodies”. She loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Janette (and Dennis) Alton, of Burnside, AnJanette (and Cleston) Simpson, of Veedersburg, Indiana, Annette (and Vernon) Sapp, of Kingman, Indiana, Michael Trammell, of Whitley City, and Antoinette Trammell, of Knoxville, Tennessee; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; her brother, Joe Hill, of Lafayette, Indiana; her sisters, Betty (and Slim) Strunk, of Whitley City, and Marilyn (and David) Roach, of Attica, Indiana.
Preceding Virginia in death are her parents, Jack and Ruth Hill; her husband, Elmer Roger Trammell; her brothers, Larry Wayne Hill and Jack Hill; and her sisters, Vicky Waterson and Jackie Mediate.
Funeral services was held Sunday, December 18, 2016, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial was in the Trammell Family Cemetery, in Pine Knot.

Pearlie Mae Vanover, Went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 75 years, 2 months and 17 days old.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. John Vanover, Bro. Rufus Hughes, and Bro. Daniel Perry officiating. Serving as pallbearers were John Vanover, Ron Vanover, Stephen Vanover, Brandon Wood, Luke Watson, and Rusty Spradlin. Honorary pallbearers were Christian Vanover, Johnathon Vanover, Wesley Vanover, and Keenan Vanover. Burial was in the Higginbotham Cemetery.
She was born September 26, 1941, in Sawyer, Kentucky to Jack Bill Perry and Bonnie Ridner Perry. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a care giver at the Cumberland Manor rest home for 30 years. A faithful Christian, she was a member of the Sand Hill United Baptist Church and faithfully supported her husband Jimmie’s ministry in the many churches he has pastored over the years.
Pearlie was a true Proverbs 31 woman, looking well to the care of her family. She enjoyed cooking , quilting, camping and fishing with Jimmie, spending time with and caring for her children and grandchildren. Pearlie always put others first and loved everyone she knew and they loved her.
Pearlie and Jimmie were married on Oct 27, 1962 and were blessed with three sons, John, Ron and Stephen, who love and revere their parents.
Pearlie leaves behind her husband, her sons, her daughters in law, Lori, Kathy, and Karen, grandchildren Tiffany Watson, and her husband, Luke, Chelsea Wood and her husband ,Brandon, Christian, Johnathan , Sydney, Wesley, Keenan and Madeline Vanover, and three great grandchildren Tatum, Grayson and Addison Grace, who she called Amazing Grace, brothers, Ottis “Hotshot” Perry and his wife, Deanie, and Glenn Perry and his wife, Kathy, and one sister, Nonnie Lou Hamlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Eavi Perry, Imogene Perry, and Marie Sewell.

He was born September 24, 1933 in McCreary County to Harley Bruce Sr. and Tava (Worley) Bruce. James was a retired machinist from GE and a former U S Marine. Jim was a member of the Whitley City Second Baptist Church. He found pleasure in fishing and crafting of wishing wells.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers John Bruce and Don Bruce, and three sisters Clara Redell, Betty Linder, and Beatrice Combs.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Bruce of Palatka, Fl., four sons, Randy Bruce, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Russell Bruce and his wife Karen, of Harrison, Ohio, Larry Bruce of Indiana, and Kirby Bruce and his wife Debbie, of Columbus, Ohio, three step-sons, Danny Burns, Billy Burns and Robert J. Burns, step-daughter, Reba Whitaker, one brother, Harley Bruce Jr. and his wife Sylvia of Stearns, Ky., eight grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.

She was born August 9, 1923, in Pine Knot, Kentucky, to the late Eli and Martha (Creekmore) Branham. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Daugherty, a son Steven Daugherty, two brothers: Walter Branham and Henry Branham, and two sisters: Bessie Moore and Dessie Wilson.
Surviving family include 11 children: Henry Daugherty, Whitley City, Kentucky, Leona Barrett (and Kermitt), Dillard Oregon; Thelma Phillips, Winston, Oregon; Hurstle (and Betty) Daugherty, Marshes Siding; Walter Eddie (and Renati) Daugherty, Winston, Oregon; Bernard (and Mitzie) Daugherty, Myrtle Creek, Oregon; Mildred Kidwell, Mill City, Oregon; Jerry (and Debbie) Daugherty, Roseburg, Oregon; Terry (and Penny) Daugherty, Tucson, Arizona; Ann (and Howard) Sigler, Portland Oregon; and Randy Daugherty of Portland Oregon.

Mr. Robert C. “Bobby” Duncan, 88 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born in Scott County, TN on October 22, 1928, he was the son of Walter Duncan and Orlena Byrge Duncan.
Mr. Duncan was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Winfield, TN and owned and operated Duncan’s General Store in Strunk, KY for over 70 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Taylor Duncan, step-daughter Nona Ball and her husband Roger, and step-son-in-law Darrel Taylor.
He is survived by his second wife Geneva Duncan of Oneida, TN; son Robert M. Duncan and wife Joanne of Inez, KY; daughter Linda Duncan Crutchfield of Oneida, TN; grandson Robert M. Duncan, Jr. and wife Valerie of Lexington, KY; two great granddaughters Taylor Ann and Olivia Rae Duncan of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by four step-sons Gary Baird and wife Anna of Williamsburg, KY, Gordon Baird and wife Regina, Larry Baird and wife Pansy, and Wade Baird and wife Theresa, all of Strunk, KY; step-daughter Connie Taylor of Nancy, KY; fourteen step-grandchildren and twenty three step-great grandchildren.

Ruby Minnick departed from this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital being 85 years, 1 month and 14 days old.
She was born in Sawyer, Kentucky, on October 22, 1931 to the late Harrison and Ethel (Morgan) Rose.
Ruby was a member of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church, she worked as a Laborer at the Kenner Corporation, and she enjoyed canning, gardening, animals, and being a mother to everyone.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Jim Minnick, three brothers: John, Luster, and George Rose, three sisters: Mandy Keith, Ella Privett, and Josephine Rose.
Surviving family includes: two brothers: Euel Rose of Parkers Lake, KY, and Hobert Rose of Whitley City, KY, two sisters: Abby Campbell and Pearlie Ridener both of Parkers Lake, KY.

Irene G. Ross, age 65, of Pine Knot, passed from this life on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Irene was born on March 19, 1951, in Honey Bee, Kentucky, daughter of the late Willis and Evelyn Ridner Goodin. She was a homemaker and was a member of Beulah Heights Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, William Ross; her brothers, Dow (and Ellen) Goodin, of Sawyer, Howard (and Joyce) Goodin, of the Falls Road, and Kenneth Goodin, of Tennessee; her sisters, Carolyn (and David) Coleman, of Burnside, Linda Sue Vanover, of Stearns, Ella Mae Goodin, of Stearns, and Janie (and Paul) Hurd, of Parkers Lake; and Kenneth Goodin, Willis (and Pam) Taylor, Freddie (and Angie) Goodin, Anthony Goodin, Joseph Kidd, and Caley Kidd, all who were raised and loved as Irene’s own children.

Lee Allen Slaven, Sr., age 63 years, 9 months, and 9 days, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 7p.m. at Hickman Strunk Funeral Home with Brother Mitchell Bunch and Brother Josh Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery.
He was born February 25, 1953 in Goshen, Indiana to Willie Slaven and Rachel Gregory Slaven. Lee was a member of the Word of God Church in Revelo. Before his retirement, he had driven a truck for ReadyMix. He was one of the first county police officers in 1977, had served as deputy sheriff, and served two terms as constable in McCreary County. In his spare time, Lee enjoyed fishing.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Shirley Faye Slaven.
Survivors include his children, Clifford Slaven and his wife, Janie, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Lee Slaven, Jr. and his wife, Bea, of Oneida, Tennessee, Willie Slaven and his wife, Stashia, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Donna Conatser and her husband, Darrell, of Jamestown, Tennessee, Curtis Slaven of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Leeann Slaven of Pine Knot, Kentucky, a stepson, Nathan Hamby of Pine Knot, Kentucky a brother, Phillip Slaven and his wife, Karen, of Stearns, Kentucky, sisters, Carolyn Sue Cox of Dalton, Georgia, Kathryn Vanover and her husband, Ronnie, of Revelo, Kentucky, and Phyllis Moore and her husband, Jackie, of Decatur, Tennessee, and ten grandchildren.

Dora Dean Bennett was born in Sawyer, Kentucky, on September 13, 1932, the daughter of Cornelius and Bertha (Barnett) Rollins.
She died December 2, 2016, at her home in Parkers Lake, Kentucky, being 84 years, two months and 19 days old.
She had worked in housekeeping at the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park and was a member of the Eagle Creek United Baptist Church.
Her parents; husband, Ozas Bennett; son, Rick Bennett, brother, Ernest Pless Barnett, two sisters: Wilma J. Brooks and Ella Mae Warman and two granddaughters precede her in death.
Survivors include her sons: Ronnie Bennett, Russell Bennett, Roger Bennett (wife Wilma), Ronald Bennett (wife Reda) and Carlie Bennett (wife Odie); daughter, Patricia Ross (husband Lee); brother, Eric Clayton Barnett (wife Joyce); sister, Retha Foreman; 23 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
Dora will be missed by all who knew and loved her; but we know that our loss is her gain.

Marilyn Kay Gibson, age 63 years, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
She was born October 14, 1953, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late John and Rosemary Redd.
She is survived by her husband, Hershel Gibson, two sons: Jeramy Gibson (wife Ashley) of Somerset, Kentucky, and Jeff Gibson (wife Julie) of Pine Knot. Two daughters: Charlotte Bray (husband Brian) of Bronston, Kentucky and Clara Detharidge (husband Dewayne) of Oneida, Tennessee, a brother: Johnny Redd of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, 11 grandchildren: Michael Proctor, Lenny Gibson, Jessie Gibson, Joshua Walters, Chad Walters, Cheyenne Bray, Dakota Chitwood, Sloan Chitwood, Jaden Chitwood, Hannah Detharidge, Ethan Detharidge, and three great grandchildren: Maddox Walters, Slade Chitwood and Emalie Chitwood.
Marilyn was a homemaker and member of the Whitley City Church of God. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and swimming, but mostly loved being with her grandkids.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the Whitley City Church of God with Bro. Josh Stephens officiating. Burial followed at the Whitley City Church of God Cemetery.

James Garrett Goodman, age 56 of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at his home after a brave battle with cancer.
Born in Lafollette, TN on March 20, 1960 He was the son of the late Paul and Margie Goodman.
He was a member of the Buffalo Bridge Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Ellis and Christine Jones; sister, Paula Lynn Goodman.
James is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Strunk Goodman; sons, Roger Goodman and girlfriend, Emily Lampman, and Bobby Goodman and wife Tracie; Three brothers, Don Green and wife Norma of Oliver Springs, TN, Allen Green and wife Carolyn, and Dean Green and wife Jennie all of Straight Fork community; three sisters, Debbie Foster and husband Doug, and Kathy Taylor all of Lafollette, TN, and Sherry Jones and husband Wayne of Winfield, TN; four sisters-in-law, Sheila Dixon and husband Bill, Donna Coffey, Lillian Stephens and husband Eddie, and Betty Stephens and husband Wesley all of Whitley City, KY; two brothers-in-law, Roger Strunk and wife Edee of Indiana and Allen Strunk of Whitley City, KY; best friend, Chuck Duncan of Oneida, TN. He also leaves many other relatives and friends. Thanks to Dr. Josh Thompson and hospice nurses, Brenda and Rhonda for taking such good care of him and all who said prayers and sent food and came by and said comforting words.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Lowe and Bro. Jacob Lay officiating.
Music was provided by the Buffalo Bridge Baptist Church. Burial was in the Goodman Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Keith Massengale, JR Cross, JC Massengale, Joe Lay, Denny Chambers, and Mike Hutson. Honorary Pallbearers: Moses Lowe, Benjie Chitwood and Chuck Duncan.

Gloria Jean Logan, age 69, of Rockholds, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky.
She was born at Rockholds, on August 16, 1947, the daughter of the late Willard and Mary (Littrell) Carman. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angela Logan and a son-in-law, Timothy Wilson.
Surviving family include her husband of nearly 50 years, Rev. Harvey Logan whom she married January 14, 1967 at the Crouches Creek Baptist Church in Jellico, Tennessee, a son, David Logan (wife Darya) of Corbin, Kentucky, two daughters: Sheila Cox (husband Stanley) of Rockholds, and Jennifer Wilson of Rockholds, three brothers: J.W. Carman (wife Lynn) of Jacksonville, Florida, Bradley Carman (wife Joan) of Corbin, Kentucky, and Wayne Carman (wife Jill) of Strunk, Kentucky, four grandchildren: Angela Jones, Matthew Wilson, Donnie Wayne King and David Logan, Jr. and six great grandchildren: Macie King, Levi Wilson, Mitch Wilson, Willow Jones, Hunter Jones and Constatine Jones.
Jean was a homemaker and member of the Hayes Creek Church of God. She enjoyed coloring, reading and making prayer cloths. Surely our loss is heaven’s gain because she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ruby Minnick, age 85, widow of James Jim Minnick, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation Thursday, December 5, 2016 from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM at the church. Richard Dean Robinson, age 73, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Continue Care Center at the Baptist Regional Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.
He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 25, 1943, the son of the late Clifton Harold and Freda (Knee) Robinson. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Robinson and a brother, Rudy Robinson.
Surviving family include two daughters: Susan Vaughan of Pine Knot and Lisa Radabaugh of Idaho, two brothers: Cliff Robinson and Sherman Robinson both of Idaho, two sisters: Donna and Betty, both of Nebraska, nine grandchildren: Kenneth, Richard and Tylor Vaughan, Devon and Evon Stephens, Chris Robinson, LaTesha Pride, Steven Edens, and Brenden Radabaugh, and six great grandchildren.
Richard was a pet shop owner and repaired bicycles. He refurbished old furniture and enjoyed making jewelry. He also liked going to auctions.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery om Thursday.

Christen Danielle Tucker, age 20, passed from this life on Friday, December 2, 2016, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born on December 26, 1995, at Somerset, Kentucky, to the parents of Jeremy Anthony Tucker and Angela Joy (Meadows) Tucker. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Rev. James “Jimmy” Tucker and an aunt, Kim Taylor.
Surviving family include her parents, Jeremy and Angie Tucker, a brother: Josh Tucker, grandparents: Harvey and Donna Meadows of Parkers Lake, Sandra Tucker of Somerset, aunts and uncles: Danny and Cheryl Meadows of Parkers Lake, Greg Fish of Dalton, Georgia, Lisa Hagen Somerset, Angie Ross of Corbin, Kristen Furkin of Somerset and numerous cousins and many friends.
Christen was a graduate of beauty school and worked as a cosmetic consultant at Macy’s Department Store. She was a member of the Parkers Mill Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with make-up and hair, reading and hiking.

Olivia Faith Young, age 9, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Olivia was born October 24, 2007, at Somerset, Kentucky, to Justin and Alisha (Strunk) Young of Pine Knot, Kentucky. She is the sister to Owen Michael Young, granddaughter of Darrell and Donna Strunk of Pine Knot, David Michael and Melinda Young of Oneida, Tennessee, great-granddaughter to Elisha Daughtery, Billy Ray and Dorothy Young, and Curtis and Etta Mae King.
She is the niece of Matthew Strunk, Josh and Rhonda Strunk, Samantha and Travis Williams, and cousin to Dylan, Andrew, and Bradley Strunk and Zack Williams. She had two very dear friends: Malachi Duncan and Heaven Tapley, along with many other special friends at Pine Knot Primary as well as the caring faculty and staff.
Olivia was a student at Pine Knot Primary, and a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. She was a very happy child who loved life. She enjoyed singing, dancing and caring for her animals. She loved people of all ages, especially children and was a blessing to many. She wanted to make everyone happy and feel loved. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Elmer Wendell “Pete” Braden, age 75, passed away Monday November 21, 2016 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born in the Bethel Community of Pine Knot, Kentucky, on November 15, 1941, to W. L. Braden and Susie Marie (Kidd) Braden. He is preceded in death by his father, an infant son, Ricky Allen Braden, two sisters, Cathyrn Hamilton and Brenda Braden and three brothers: Jimmy Craig Braden, Danny Braden and Timothy Braden.
Surviving family include his mother Marie Braden of Pine Knot, his wife Allene (Centers) Braden of Cincinnati, his son, Michael Braden (and wife Rachel) of Burlington, Kentucky, and grandson Tristan Braden, three brothers: Junior (and Peggy) Braden of Georgetown, Kentucky, Ronald (and Teresa) Braden of Winfield, Tennessee, and Johnny Braden of Pine Knot, and six sisters: Barbara (and Doug) Smith of Pine Knot, Jean (and Robert) Norman of Oneida, Tennessee, Linda (and Larry) King of Smithfield, Missouri, Shirley (and Jerry) Waters of Somerset, Marilyn (and Ed) Houston of Amelia, Ohio, and Joy Braden (and Clayton Hollingsworth) of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, a brother-in-law, Michael Hamilton and a very special friend, Mary “Mo” Morris.
Pete had worked out of Cincinnati as a vehicle transporter for car dealerships around the country. He loved his work and enjoyed motorcycling and Nascar and liked to cook for his friends. He has lots of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends that will mourn his passing.
Celebration of Life services were on Saturday, November 26, 2016, in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

She was born at Pine Knot, Kentucky, on May 1, 1960, the daughter of Chester Clark and Edna (King) Coffey. She is preceded in death by her father, Chester Clark, a sister Glenna Clark and three infant grandbabies.
Surviving family include her mother, Edna Coffey of Strunk, Kentucky, her husband, Joey Lay of Pine Knot, her children: Dana Dixon (fiancé Johnny Ridner) of Pine Knot and Joseph Lay of Pine Knot, three grandchildren: J.J., Tihanna and Kiera, a sister, Irene Bryant (and Charles) of Stearns, and six brothers: Jeff Clark (and Linda) of Strunk, Kenny Coffey (and Teresa) of Strunk, James Clark of Strunk, David Clark (and Jeanette) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tommy Clark (and Vickie) of Oneida Tennessee, and Milford Coffey of Jacksonville, Florida.
Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker taking care of her family and she loved being a grandmother. She was a member of the Davis Hill Church of God and had worked as an aide for the McCreary County Schools. She had also worked at American Bag Company and Denim Processing and liked to crochet in her spare time.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro Bill King officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Jones Cemetery at Strunk, Kentucky. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 noon until time for services.
