Scott Hospital to reopen

Pioneer Community Hospital, formerly known as Scott County Hospital, will soon be back in business and seeing patients after the United States Bankruptcy Court approved the sale of the facility to Florida based Rennova Health Inc.

The Scott County Independent Herald reports the sale is expected to be finalized by January 6, and another three to four months will be needed to acquire licenses and certifications.

The hospital is expected to reopen sometime possibly in April, and to offer the same services as when the facility closed last June. Those services included an ER, general hospital services, outpatient diagnostics and laboratory services.

The Herald reported Rennova is looking to invest approximately half a million dollars in repairs in both the hospital and professional building in the coming months.

Tony Taylor, former CEO of Pioneer, will remain with the hospital in the same role under Rennova.
