Manslaughter Charge In Dragging Death
19 indicted by Grand Jury
The McCreary County Grand Jury had a busy session in March as indictments were returned against 19 individuals in as many cases.
Kenneth L. Mullins II, the man accused of killing Gary Roberts in January, was indicted on one count of Manslaughter in the second degree, for allegedly operating his motor vehicle in a manner that manifested extreme indifference to human life by reportedly dragging the victim from his vehicle until he died.
Mullins, 25, was arrested on January 26 after police responded to a possible kidnapping case in Pine Knot on January 25. At the time it was learned that Roberts was last seen leaving his residence with Mullins in a pickup traveling at a high rate of speed. A short time later Roberts’ body was found with injuries consistent with blunt force impacts.
Brian Garland, or Pine Knot, was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana for reportedly having a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and items commonly used for the ingestion/distribution of illegal controlled substances on February 8.
Diana Cordell, of Stearns, was indicted on one count of Wanton Endangerment and one count of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants for allegedly crashing in to a McCreary County School Bus on January 2 while under the influence of intoxicants.
Joey G. Watson, of Marshes Siding, was indicted on a count of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Controlled Substance for reportedly being found with 135 clonazepam on January 23, and a handgun after a previous felony conviction.
Samina Meer Jones, of Stearns, was indicted on 14 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument for allegedly possessing several forged checks, totaling more than $1,700 between the dates of November 2016 and February 2017.
Ryan Daugherty, of Stearns, was charged with Flagrant Non Support for reportedly failing to make court-ordered child support payments for not less than six consecutive months with an arrearage of $8,499.99.
William C. Perry, of Whitley City, was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance for allegedly knowingly and unlawfully selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on August 18.
Raymond Griffis, of Stearns, was indicted on one count of Wanton Endangerment, for reportedly firing a gun in to the door of a residence on March 2.
Billy Roberts, of Whitley City, was indicted on one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance for reportedly knowingly and unlawfully selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on August 11.
Joshua Baird, of Whitley City, was indicted on one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance for reportedly knowingly and unlawfully selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on August 18.
Danny Clark, of Whitley City, was indicted on one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance for reportedly knowingly and unlawfully selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on August 18.
Dominic Strunk, of Pine Knot, was indicted on one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance for reportedly knowingly and unlawfully selling a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on September 19.
Jack King, of Strunk, was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants for allegedly possession over 2 ounces of methamphetamine, and items commonly used for the ingestion/distribution of illegal controlled substances and for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence on February 28.
Rodney Warman, of Strunk, was charged with Burglary, 2 counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking of a Firearm and one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500 for allegedly unlawfully entering a residence while armed with a deadly weapon and taking two rifles and various items on August 24.
Darrell Koger, of Revelo, was indicted on a count of Possession of a Controlled Substance for reportedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine on February 8.
Jennifer Dobbs, of Pine Knot, was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking over $10,000 and Criminal Mischief for allegedly taking a 2016 Dodge Ram Truck owned by Tim Blankenship, and damaging said vehicle and a gate on January 27.
Danny Lee Ball, of Stearns, was indicted on a count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for allegedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale and items commonly used for the ingestion/distribution of illegal controlled substances on January 25.
Hank Lemay, A.K.A. Hank Patrick, of Parkers Lake, was indicted on a count of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Controlled Substance for reportedly being found with a quantity of a controlled substance and a handgun on November 11.
Lemay was also charged with being a Persistent Felony Offender after a previous felony conviction in 2013.
Toby Dodson, of Marshes Siding, was indicted on one count of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Terroristic Threatening and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants for allegedly possessing a handgun after a felony conviction, threatening to kill or cause serious physical injury to a McCreary County EMS worker and operating a vehicle under the influence on January 23.
