Man operating a non-Motor vehicle under the Influence arrested

A Parkers Lake man is facing charges after apparently riding his horse along Highway 90 while intoxicated -nearly four times the legal limit.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Shaler Jones responded to a call on Highway 90 around 9:00 p.m. Saturday night concerning an apparently drunk man riding a horse on the road.

According to the arrest report Trooper Shaler Jones spotted the subject near Bee Rock Road. The Trooper observed the man nearly fall out of the saddle and managed to stop Morris D. Meredith, 57, of Parkers Lake.

Meredith reportedly replied that he was “drink and going home.”

After failing several field sobriety tests, Meredith was arrested on operating a non-Motor vehicle under the Influence and reckless driving charges.
