Stearns Businesses Highlighted on KET

After receiving a visit last week from Kentucky Educational Television’s (KET) segment producer Matt Grimm, downtown Stearns with its shops and businesses will be highlighted during an upcoming episode of “Kentucky Life” later this month.  The program will highlight several locations in Stearns which cater to locals as well as tourists who are drawn to the area for its coal history, hiking opportunities, and the nearby Big South Fork Scenic Railway. Stops include the McCreary County Museum, the Kentucky Coal Crafters’ shop, Whistle Stop Café, and Sweet Kreations Gift Shop. “Kentucky Life” is produced by Brandon Wickey.

The “Kentucky Life” profile of downtown Stearns will air on Saturday, May 20 at 8:00 pm/7 CT on KET and will rebroadcast on Sunday, May 21 at 4:00 pm/3CT.  Other repeat broadcasts will follow, and the profile will be available for streaming online via the KET website at ket.org.

KET is Kentucky’s largest classroom, serving more than one million people each week via television, online, and mobile.
