Two facing drug charges

An 18-year old Pine Knot woman faces trafficking and other charges after officers found methamphetamine and other drug-related items Thursday.
Sheriff Randy Waters reports Brooklyn Stephens was charged with trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication and tampering with physical evidence as a result of a search of a residence on Meadows Grove Road around 5:00 p.m. Thursday.
Deputies Alex Jones and Milford Creekmore went to the residence in an effort to search for a male subject with an outstanding warrant. According to the citation Stephens allowed the officers to search the residence and her vehicle. In the search a marijuana grinder and baggies with residue were located, as well as notebooks with several names with amounts owed listed.
Stephens reportedly told the officers she had used drugs that day.
After her arrest Stephens repeatedly told officers she was not concealing any drugs,  but upon a search at the Leslie County Detention Center a baggie of approximately six grams of what appeared to be meth was found in a body cavity.
Stephens is facing additional charges of promoting contraband and trafficking in Leslie County as a result of the incident.
Also arrested at the time was Noah Spradlin, 21, of Pine Knot. Spradlin was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing/evading and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
