Butler graduates from EKU
Matthew A. Butler graduated from EKU in May 2017 with a Bachelors Degree in biomedical sciences and a minor in chemistry and has been accepted into graduate school at the University of Indiana at Bloomington beginning in August where he will pursue his Doctorate in Optometry. After completing four more years of intense medical training for the comprehensive evaluation of eyes and visual systems to diagnose and manage ocular diseases, Matthew will be eligible to sit for the board examination to become a licensed eye doctor, evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients with ocular disorders. He will also be involved in the latest research and treatment methods to serve patients of all age groups. Between semesters of his training, he will also be pursuing his business degree and has also been accepted into the Kelley School of Business. Both the University of Indiana College of Optometry and the Kelley School of Business are nationally recognized academic programs.
Matt is the son of Mark and Kim Butler of Richmond, grandson of Irene Becker formerly of Whitley City, Brenda and Bruce Butler of Stearns, great-grandson of the late Ethel and Hobson Stephens of Whitley City, the late Louise and Andy Cox of Marshes Siding, and the late Henry and Roxie Butler of Stearns.
