Busy Sunday for the law
It was a busy weekend for McCreary County law enforcement officers as more than a dozen arrests were made Sunday alone.
The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office took a total of 10 individuals in to custody Sunday on a wide variety of charges. Four individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants, one on an OUI charge and two on possession charges.
Two separate subjects were charged with alcohol intoxication related charges, including a man who was arrested at 6:01 a.m. after he reportedly had been stealing scrap metal, including a trolling motor from a boat, from a yard while under the influence. Deputy Greg Chaney noted in his report that the suspect was acting strange and apparently thought he was fishing in a pond – although there was no pond on the property.
Sheriff Randy Waters stated the high traffic for the day was unusual.
“Sunday’s are typically the most quiet day in the week,” Sheriff Waters said. “But with having deputies on patrol all day, every day, if there is trouble we will be there to handle it.”
The Kentucky State Police also made an arrest Sunday of a 19-year-old male at the Pine Knot Job Corps on child pornography possession charges.
According to the arrest citation, Tyler Pietschmann, of Sewickly Pennsylvania was charged with possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. After an investigation Pietschmann reportedly admitted to knowingly downloading nude pictures of underage females from a Russian Website.
