Young Raiders to kick off 2017 season at Clinton County

STEARNS – The McCreary County Middle School football team is closing in on its opener for the 2017 season. The Raiders are scheduled to kick off the 2017 season on the road at Clinton County on Thursday, Aug. 10.
Longtime rivals, McCreary County and Clinton County are no strangers.
Familiar foes fill the McCreary Central Middle School football team’s 2017 schedule.
In addition to Clinton County, McCreary County has away games scheduled versus Wayne County (Aug. 15) and Jackson County (Sept. 2).
The Raiders are slated to host Jackson County in a home opener on August 19.
McCreary County is due to battle both Clinton County and Jackson County both at home and away during the upcoming campaign.
Local middle school football fans won’t have to travel far for many of McCreary County’s gridiron matchups. The Raiders will have an opportunity to play in front of their fans at home on seven separate occasions in the 2017 season.
McCreary County has additional home games scheduled versus Russell County (Aug. 24), South Laurel (Aug. 29), Clinton County (Sept. 7), Southern (Sept. 12), North Laurel (Sept. 21) and Berea (Sept. 28).
The Raiders started preseason practice in July.
