July OC Tax report
First month collections for the McCreary County Occupational Tax showed an increase over last year, but when compared to the previous months of July the collections were markedly below average.
According to figures released from Judge Executive Doug Stephens’ office, a total of $188,836.40 was collected in the first month of the 2017-18 fiscal year. Of that total $62,945 was added to the Jail Fund due to the increase of .5 percent initiated in April.
Actual collections totaled $125,890.93, about $50,000 more than July of 2016, but the previous four months of July (2012 to 2015) an average of $142,000 was brought in by the tax.
